Radical AG of Virginia undermines the 2nd Amendment for HALF the country

In only the latest display of gun control zealotry, gun hating Democrat Attorney General Mark Herring has unilaterally revoked the concealed carry reciprocity agreements Virginia had with 25 states.

Herring states he is doing so because these states don’t “meet the standard” of issuing CCW’s.

This is a bit of gun control double talk as the true meaning of his words is that these 25 states do not have enough infringements upon their citizens 2nd Amendment rights to please this radical AG’s lust for statism.

But with all gun control advocates, Herring can’t help himself when spewing nonsensical and illogical gibberish in order to try and defend his point.  To wit:

“Evenly, consistently and fairly enforcing Virginia’s concealed handgun permit law, as we are now doing, means that it will be more difficult for potentially dangerous individuals to conceal their handguns here in Virginia and that will make Virginians safer, especially Virginian law enforcement.”

Uhhhh…how’s that again?

What exactly are these dangerous people who are going to go on a crime spree, or participate in a terrorist jihad going to care for carrying their guns legally or not?

Answer: THEY’RE NOT.  Well, I guess they are going to care that they now have an easier time knowing that touristy places filled with out of staters will be filled with MORE unarmed victims thanks to Herrings undermining the law abiding’s 2nd Amendment rights.

This also doesn’t JUST effect visitors to Virginia but also Virginians right to carry in the 6 states that require mutual reciprocity;   Florida, Louisiana, North Dakota, South Carolina, Wyoming and neighboring Pennsylvania.

So not only is Herring making it more dangerous for people to visit Virginia he is making it more dangerous for Virginians to leave the state.

Virginia House Speaker William Howell said Herring is “damaging the integrity of the office he holds.”  No kidding.  But since when do liberal rights hating gun control zealots care about following the law, respecting the constitution or their office?  Herring is really just following Obama’s lead.

Howell went on to say:

“Despite promising to take politics out of the attorney general’s office, Mark Herring consistently seeks to interpret and apply the law of the Commonwealth through the lens of his own personal, political opinions.”

You see, this isn’t the first time that Herring just does whatever he feels like and the Constitution, the law and the will of the people be damned.  On January 23, 2014, Herring announced that he would not defend the Virginia Marriage Amendment in federal court, and filed a brief in a federal lawsuit being brought against the law asking for it to be struck down. Defending his stance Herring stated:

“I believe the freedom to marry is a fundamental right and I intend to ensure that Virginia is on the right side of history and the right side of the law.”

So gay people getting married is a fundamental right…but the 2nd Amendment is just a nuisance you have to work around and infringe at every opportunity?  Herring is the height of hypocrisy and a disgrace to his office.

Unfortunately, it seems that Virginians will have to bear this disgrace of an AG until 2018 unless he can be impeached first. Though that seems doubtful.

On the bright side, visitors to Virginia will still be able to lawfully open carry their firearms without a permit as the AG has no preview in that regard.  No doubt the influx of open carriers in the state of Virginia, that has full preemption in regards to firearms (meaning towns and cities can’t pass their own gun control measures banning it) will make Herrings gun control mind explode.  Oh well, at least some good will come of this then.

Keep on carrying on!
