The Argument For Being Able To Legally Shoot Crooked Cops

The 2nd Amendment was highlighted in the Bill of Rights to ensure that citizens have the right to defend themselves.  For some reason over the years that has gotten watered down to defending themselves against petty criminals but it extends passed that to be first and foremost a defense against a tyrannical government and those who would exploit their position at the cost of a innocent persons liberty. A case in point is a situation that occurred back on Sept. 30, 2011 in Missouri.   Jason and Laura Hagan, who home school their three children, were the subject of an investigation by Child Protective Services alleging that their home was messy.  Take a second to let that soak in.  They were under investigation for having a “messy” home.  If that were actually true, how many of us would be under investigation?  No.  From the looks of it it would seem...

Defenders of Ferguson Threatened By Feds At Gunpoint

Ronald Reagan famously once said: “Government is not the solution to our problem…government is the problem.” I am therefore not surprised that white Oath Keepers were trying to keep the city of Ferguson from burning to the ground by protecting stores and property from being torched by out of town agitators and race baitors, the Obama administration mobilized the feds to shut it down.  I guess having armed citizens doing the job of keeping people safe was making the government look bad. From Liberty Unyielding: After a horrific night of arson, vandalism, and looting in Ferguson, Mo. last week following a grand jury decision, members of a militia calling itself the Oath Keepers have been arriving to guard over the persons and property the local police are unable to protect. The city initially welcomed the group’s assistance, but as word of their presence spread, state and federal politicians allegedly...

Rookie Cop Shoots Innocent Unarmed Man In the Dark – No Accident

This story is FULL of fail. In Brooklyn this past Thursday night, a man and his girlfriend were leaving her apartment a little after 11pm to go out for the night.  The elevator wasn’t working so the couple decided to take the stairs down from the 7th floot.  The boyfriend, 28 year old Akai Gurley entered the stairwell first, when his girlfriend followed after him a shot rang out from above and Gurley was shot in the chest. He and his girlfriend both fled and made it to the 5th floor before Gurley succumb to his wounds. So, if you didn’t read the title of this article you would probably assume that a stray bullet rang out, a case of wrong place wrong time, or maybe you’d be cynical and think that it was a crime related hit. It was none of those.  It was a cop who doesn’t have...

PA Sheriff Offers FREE Optional Firearm Training Class

When it comes to training I find that the majority of gun owners believe in it.  I also find that, like myself, they don’t believe that it should be mandatory.  The First Amendment doesn’t require you to do research into what you are spouting off about, you don’t have to actually KNOW the issues in order to vote etc.  That doesn’t mean you SHOULDN’T, just that the government doesn’t and shouldn’t dictate the terms of which you can exercise your rights. In the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania we have no requirements of training in order to purchase or to carry a firearm.  Outside of a background check we have unfettered access to purchasing firearms and for $20 and another background check we can carry concealed.  And we can save the $20 and hassle if we carry openly as that is free so long as we aren’t otherwise prohibited. Training on...

Ferguson Cop tells citizens: Arm up, we can’t protect you

As we wait for the grand jury’s decision in the case of the shooting of convenience store strong arm robber, Mike Brown, local police are doling out some common sense to the residents for  the potential fallout of the decision.  In the Cop Talk forum of voactiv.com, an officer from Ferguson had some sobering and frank advice to give to the residents of Ferguson. From Liberty Unyielding: According to Vocativ’s latest update, the “cop talk” forum, where a user who posts as a local policeman gave the warning, was taken offline on Monday evening. But before the site was taken down, Vocativ copied this from it: Under the name “A Concerned Cop,” one person shared a warning: “If you do not have a gun, get one and get one soon. We will not be able to protect you or your family. It will be your responsibility to protect them. Our gutless...

Out of Control Police Execute Innocent PUPPY That Was Walking Away From Them

Regular readers of this site know that I’m pretty fair when it comes to my viewpoints on police.  Sure, I will lambaste a crooked cop who bullies the innocent and hides behind his shield when violating the civil rights of the innocent but I will also defend the officers who get railroaded based on some trumped up race card because the 280 pound attacker trying to beat him to death happened to be a different color than him. But sometimes a situation occurs that makes me despise the entire profession because not only does some rogue crooked cop do something reprehensible but it is followed by an organizational stone wall for justice as the officer’s higher ups circle the wagons around him. In Racine, Wisconsin such an event took place. Police were called in after a puppy had defecated on a neighbors yard.  The owner of the dog, Kurt...

Judge Rules Cops Can Now Break Fingers To Compel People To Open Cell Phones

In another shocking display of jurist malfeasance, Virginia Circuit Judge Stephen Fucci has ruled that police can pry open your hands and force you to unlock your cell phone that has a fingerprint security feature. Not only is Fucci’s ruling an affront to both the 4th and 5th Amendments but is also shockingly ignorant. According to Judge Steven C. Fucci: while a criminal defendant can’t be compelled to hand over a passcode to police officers for the purpose of unlocking a cellular device, law enforcement officials can compel a defendant to give up a fingerprint. Here’s the rub though, with the advancement of technology, more and more things are going the way of biometric scans.  The logical conclusion to Fucci’s ruling is that any biometric lock, be it fingerprint swipe or iris scan can be searched without a warrant or permission or consent from the owner. This extends beyond...

School Principal Arming Up to Protect His Students

Instead of putting his faith in imaginary magic force-fields generated by “gun free zone” signs, a school principal in Ohio is utilizing the opportunity provided him to do something that would actually make a difference in protecting his students. In Trenton Ohio, Edgewood High School Principal  Russ Fussnecker has decided to take advantage of the law that gives him an ability to carry a firearm while at work.  While Fussnecker is a gun owner, he still needs his Concealed Weapons permit and then undergo special training in order to be allowed to carry while on school grounds. The special training will be provided by the Butler County Sheriff’s department and upon successful completion, Fussnecker will earn the certification necessary to carry a loaded firearm into public school buildings. When asked about his reasoning, Fussnecker stately plainly the difficulties are in regards to outsiders with malicious intent entering his school:...

DC Police Chief States Victims of Crime Not Worthy of a Carry Permit

It is not surprising that, even after a federal judge ruled against the District of Columbia’s carry ban, DC has gone to great lengths to deny the right to keep and bear arms from as many law abiding citizens as possible.  The city council and mayor have modeled their draconian carry requirements after places like New York City where policy seems to be made that makes it all but impossible for “regular people” to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights. Don’t get me wrong, if you are buddies with the issuing authority, are rich, have friends in City Hall or in the Mayor’s mansion then you have no difficulty whatsoever of getting the government’s ok to defend your life if necessary.  But if you do not have the money, connections or fame then you’ll probably find yourself denied your rights by a petty and petulant issuing authority. The petty and...

FBI Claims Stopping Power A “Myth”

On the heels of the Army looking to replace the 9mm Beretta pistol as its standard sidearm, the FBI’s Training Division released a “new study” in May that was recently leaked to the public.  The Study claims that the 9mm Luger pistol is the best option for law enforcement.  Suggesting that departments shouldn’t switch their sidearms to larger rounds. The FBI Study shows there are a number of reasons for their conclusion.  But their rationale is laughable. Looking over a copy of the FBI study I found their conclusions and assumptions to be rather simplistic.   Among their justifications for the 9mm being a superior round are: Law Enforcement Officers aren’t skilled enough to shoot a larger round nothing that they missed 80% of the time with a 9mm so to increase the caliber means increasing the miss rate FBI Shooters shoot better with the 9mm Luger You can hold more rounds with a 9mm...

Drunk Cop Behaving Badly Shoots Two Innocent Bystanders

Let me paint a picture of fail for you.  An off-duty New York Narcotics cop gets crocked at a bar on Manhattan’s Upper West Side on Friday.  And no…it wasn’t 4am…it was 9pm and officer Victor Zambrano, 49, was three sheets to the wind.  He was so inebriated that he thought handing over his loaded service firearm to his 31 year old female drinking buddy that he might have been trying to seduce was a good idea. I’m curious how that banter went? Hey girl, you want to hold my gun? OOooo…it’s SOOOOO big. Yeah girl, it’s got a big bang too. Shockingly, this is where things go off the rails as drunken Zambrano tried to get the gun back from the girl who apparently was concerned that Zambrano was too drunk to be armed. Zambrano got violent with her and after he wrestled it back from her he shot her...

4th Amendment No Longer Recognized in New York

Apparently, when Gov. Cuomo broke the rules and rammed the SAFE Act down the throats of his constituents in the dead of night before anyone read it, it held some disturbing sub parts that are now just being brought to light. Namely, the 4th Amendment: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized will no longer be recognized as an absolute right and will be wantonly ignored whenever the authority desires it. A SWAT team raided co-owner Joe Palumbo’s Albion Gun Shop without a warrant. They were acting on orders from the Narcotics Enforcement Unit, who asked the shop to hand over a customer list so they could...

Cops are now stealing their OWN guns

Far too often you hear cases about law abiding citizens having their guns confiscated by police officers never to have them returned.  While this appears to happen in mostly anti gun states like California the idea that shady characters can act with impunity behind a badge effects all 50 states. Let us not forget to point out with healthy skepticism, the notion that police officers who run the gun control scheme of “gun buybacks” are really going to let a $10,000 gun or rifle go to the smelter.  No, they are going to hand the schmuck who is pawning ol grampa’s WWII memento for a $25 gift certificate to Bed Bath and Beyond while the officer (or dept) is adding that same rifle to his own personal collection, if he doesn’t sell it outright. So it comes at NO surprise to me that according to the Pentagon, police officers...

Bloomberg loses ANOTHER election he tried to buy – Pro Gun Sheriff Triumphant

This time in Milwaukee, the money juggernaut that is Michael Bloomberg failed to buy a primary election for his anti gun candidate for Sheriff.   In the Democratic primary for Sheriff of Milwaukee county pro gun incumbent Sheriff David Clarke had to fight off not only his challenger but also Bloomberg with a carpet bag full of $150,000. That was the amount that Bloomberg spent to try and defeat Sheriff Clarke.  That amount is also more than Clarke and his opponent Chris Moews spent combined on their own campaigns. Fortunately the voters of Milwaukee County would not be bamboozled by the big city huckster and his money and Clarke won his primary by a margin of 52-48.  He runs unopposed in November and as such has all but assured that he will continue to proudly and justly serve the people of Milwaukee. I am a little surprised that the...

Gun Grabber Heads Implode as DC Ban Ruled Unconstitutional – All law abiding can now carry

Shockingly over the weekend a Judge ruled that “the right to keep and bear arms” ACTUALLY included bearing arms. In Palmer v District of Columbia, Federal Judge Frederick Scullin Jr. ruled that the Second Amendment existed OUTSIDE a person’s home.  With a decision so obvious I do wonder why it took 5 years to issue this decision.   Perhaps the five year wait had to do with Judge Scullin delving DEEPLY into both Heller v DC and MacDonald v Chicago to issue this resounding and total conclusion:  “there is no longer any basis on which this court can conclude that the District of Columbia’s total ban on the public carrying of ready-to-use handguns outside the home is constitutional under any level of scrutiny.” That wording is important.  According to the correct ruling of Judge Scullin, the right to bear arms is just as paramount as the right to keep them....

Jackbooted thug with badge kills another unarmed member of an innocent family

If you are like me you consider your dog part of the family.  It seems more and more that certain police officers view them as target practice. In Salt Lake City, hundreds of people have protested in from of the SLPD against the summary execution of lovable Geist the Weimaraner. You might be saying to yourself that perhaps we here at Bullets First are getting too soft hearted and cannot accept that a dog had to be shot.  That’s not the case here.  Geist wasn’t a roving dog attacking children, not a trained fighter who would snap at anyone, not a rabid monster. No, Geist was a lovable family pet whose only “crime” was being in his fenced in and locked yard. It was there in his fenced in backyard that the gray Weimaraner was was shot dead by a police officer who was searching for a missing boy. Police...

LA Cops “accidentally” shoot two innocent hostages

In a tragic story out of Los Angeles, LA County Sherriffs killed a hostage that they mistook for a knife wielding maniac. A  911 caller told dispatchers a man with a 10-inch butcher knife was threatening people. So when Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies saw a wounded, bloody man rush out of a West Hollywood apartment with someone following him, they opened fire. Of course, the second innocent hostage, 30 year old John Winkler, fleeing for his life didn’t have a knife on him because well…he was an innocent hostage FLEEING FOR HIS LIFE.  Unfortunately that means that he fled right into a hail of bullets by some trigger happy cops.  But apparently the cops feel bad about it so somehow that makes it ok.  In a statement released by the LA County Sherriff’s Dept, the entire department mourned Winkler’s death. Well bully for them.  Oh, on top of...

CA Denies Hero Cop CCW Because She Collects Disability…Way To Stay Classy Cali

In 2009, Ally Jacobs, a police officer at UC Berkeley, was credited for helping crack the 18 year long kidnapping case where Jaycee Dugard was abducted by Phillip and Nancy Garrido. Jacobs intuition and deductive skills led to the rescue of the victime and she was hailed as a hero.  Now, since Jacobs recently retired due to medical reasons she is getting a nice boot to the face by the State of California. You see, in California, under state law, retired cops are entitled to a permit to carry a concealed weapon. But Jacobs was told she was ineligible for a retired officer card with an endorsement to carry a concealed weapon because since she is receiving disability income she isn’t considered “retired.” Now, I have my own issues with cops getting a greenlit shall issue CCW while other law abiding citizens in the Golden State must jump through hoops...
