School Shooting? Check. Exploitative gun control? Check. Rampant crime as a result? Welcome to Stockton

With all the exploitation of dead children that Obama, Bloomberg and other gun grabbing controllers were doing after Sandy Hook, in their push to forward their anti-gun agenda, I did some research to see what happens if they win. Tragically, this was not the first time that a elementary school shooting happened.  Nor was it the first time that anti gun politicians exploited the tragedy of dead children to push for the banning of firearms. One need only look back to 1989 in Stockton California at the Cleveland School where Patrick Purdy opened fired and killed 5 school children ages 6-8 and injuring another 29 plus one teacher. The political ghouls descended upon this tragedy as they have for Sandy Hook and such pejorative terms as “assault weapons” became part of the vernacular.  It was with loaded terms and preying off the grief and sadness of the tragedy that...

Open Carrying could have saved Trayvon Martins life

If you are a subscriber to this blog then you know that I am strongly in favor of the open carrying of firearms and  I have discussed the reasons before. With all the hubbub about George Zimmerman verdict recently, something dawned on me last night that I didn’t register before. If Florida allowed the open carrying of firearms and Zimmerman was doing so the night of the incident, would Trayvon Martin still be alive? For those of you who don’t know, open carry is legal in some form in 45 our of 50 states.  Meaning that in five states the practice is completely verboten. Illinois and New York are unsurprisingly two of these states.  A little more surprising is that Texas, South Carolina and Florida are the other three. But how would the night when Zimmerman and Martin met have been different if Martin turned to see the “creepy...

Common sense returns to RI’s General Assembly

Despite the machinations of Gov. Lincoln Chafee, House Speaker Gordon Fox, Senate President Teresa Paiva Weed and Attorney General Peter Kilmartin the law abiding citizens of Rhode Island will not be dragged over the coals and have their constitutional rights infringed. The aforementioned cabal of gun grabbing officials supported a series of gun control measures that would have served no purpose but to deny and infringe upon the law abiding right to keep and bear arms.  Among these misguided measures was an “assault” weapons ban, increase the bureaucracy and red tape in order to get a handgun permit and a $100 PER GUN registration scam. Thanks to a motivated and vocal opposition that staged huge protests at the steps of the Statehouse the bills to price gouge and infringe were left to languish and die in the Assembly. What did pass though were some reasonable measures aimed at punishing criminals...

A tale of two cities, one with victims, one with citizens

This past weekend has once again replayed both the triumph of gun rights and the tragedy of gun control as it relates to the average citizen. Two men, nearly 1000 miles apart, facing two strikingly similar situations, find the outcome drastically different thanks to the city in which they live. The first man, Giovanni Donancricchia was a pizzeria owner in Chicago.  The second man was just a guy waiting in line for a store to open in order to buy a pair of sneakers. On Friday morning, after closing up shop from a busy Thursday night, Giovanni faced a life or death situation as a armed robber broke in through the back door and went to the cash register where Giovanni’s wife, Angela was working.  Giovanni, physically confronted the man and bought Angela enough time to run out the back.  Giovanni rushed after his wife, when he turned to see...

The Pointlessness of Gun Control and Necessity of Gun Rights Illustrated

In my internet cruising I have come across a great many interesting people and artists from around the world.  One of my favorites is a bi-weekly webcomic written in Germany but which takes place in the US. The title of the comic is Sandra and Woo.  Its a Calvin and Hobbes type story about a girl and her talking raccoon.  Hi-jinks occur.  The reason I’m bringing this up today is that the author, Oliver Knorzer, has been on a bit of a pro gun rights kick as of late.  I’m not sure if it is by accident or not  but I wanted to share nonetheless. The first illustrates the futility of gun free zones in an interesting way: How simple is that?  Any item, in the hands of someone willing to use it can be turned into a weapon.  Should we have pencil control?  Go back to using safety...

Gun Free Zone succeeds again…

…in leaving people defenseless like lambs to the slaughter. In Santa Moncica, California a shooter went unchecked on a rampage at the local college.  Somehow, the gun grabbing zealots magic force-field of a sign with a gun crossed out did nothing to deter a maniac from shooting up the place, leaving 4 people dead before the shooter himself died. Not only did Voldemort here dispel the magic of the gun free zone, he also magicked up some illegal guns that are denied law abiding citizens. Interesting.  So, the law creates a fallacy of a “safe zone” and also disarms the law abiding yet does nothing to stop criminals or those who don’t believe in the magic power of this sign:   Basically California, with some of the harshest and most draconian gun control laws on the books, once again has proven the complete and abject failure that gun control...
