Peaceful Rebellion Catching Fire In Connecticut

Gun control zealots, empowered from feeding off the blood of young children, seized their moment to punish the law abiding citizens of Connecticut last year and passed pointless gun control legislation that did nothing to prevent gun violence. Rather, these ghouls who exploit tragedy and the death of young children for their own ends, hoisted upon the innocent, draconian measures that sought to strip the rights from citizens in order to make them subjects and more easier to control. I must admit, I had underestimated the people of the Constitution State, because rather than just bending over and taking it they have risen up in quiet rebellion against this tyranny and have simply said: “No.” The legislation of citizen control that was passed last year in Hartford required that citizens who owned sporting rifles or any magazine that held more than 10 rounds (aka MOST magazines), must have those...

Another bit of oppression falls in Colorado. Open Carry Ban in Castle Rock Repealed

Perhaps Colorado, as a whole, has seen the error of its ways. I mean, Colorado…come on…remember your roots and forget all about the gun hating Californian transplants you have had to suffer over the years. Finally, and fortunately, I think Colorado is remembering who it is. On top of the recalls and resignations, individual towns are taking back their rights and Castle Rock was not to be denied a moment longer. The State of Colorado recognizes the right to open carry firearms.  Unfortunately, it has not pass legislation that would pre-empt any jurisdiction from usurping the rights of its citizens so there are pockets of tyranny in Colorado, most notably in Denver. But that doesn’t mean that tyranny must remain as the town of Castle Rock, just a few miles south of the mile high city, has finally cast off the shackles of infringement and repealed the ban. Though...

Gabby Giffords Wages War on the Constitution…Gets Warship Named After Her…huh?

Somehow this little tidbit had passed under my radar when it was first released but Gabrielle Giffords, controller and limiter of American Liberty is having an Independence Class littoral combat ship named after her. Previously it was just a hypothetical name as the Navy had only planned to build 2 ships of that class, the lead ship Independence and the second ship Coronado.  But with the near completion of the Coronado the Navy has announced plans to build an additional 10 Independence class ships with the 5th being named the USS Gabrielle Giffords. The irony that a ship in a class called Independence would be named after a woman who is making it her life’s work to deny the ability of regular American citizens to be independent of government control is laughable. Do I have a problem with politicians having ships named after them?  No.  But let’s not fool...

Even when in my favor I reject the idea of “special” citizens – Gun Rights belong to all free Americans

As you have read in my past articles on NY’s SAFE Act, not only do I have a problem with nonsensical rights denying gun control, but I have as big if not bigger problem with the EXCEPTIONS to the laws that are given to politicians, the rich, the powerful and the police. Since I am not a raging hypocrite like my opponents I therefore will not support or encourage legislation that would make one class of people “more worthy” of a right than another. In Iowa, a bill has been proposed that will allow active duty military personnel to buy handguns without going through the arduous and Constitutionally unnecessary process of acquiring a permit. An Iowa house subcommittee passed the bill unanimously and now it heads to the House’s Veterans Affairs Committee. Currently in Iowa, atop the standard federal background check you need to meet “certain requirements” and PAY...

Son saves father’s life with literal shot in the dark

In Van Zandt County Texas, east of Dallas, a son is being hailed a hero for saving his father’s life. Weldom Atherton was awoken in the middle of the night as he heard a prowler rummaging through his property. Weldon saw the intruder scuttle away but he got his rifle just in case he returned, which he did soon thereafter.  Weldon got up behind the thief and tapped him on the back with the rifle. BREAK– Bad move Weldon, never get that close, you have a rifle, not a stick, shortening the distance to where the bad guy can grab it will do no good. At this point the thief turned and took a step toward Atherton, who thought he was going to go for the gun and told the thief that if he took another step he would be shot.   The thief ran off at that point....

“Assault” Weapons a no-no for citizens but “Patrol Rifles” are a go for cops

I guess we are going to start the week off with some gun control hypocrisy…shocker. The Chicago Police department, you know them; the ones who have fought against citizen’s right to keep and bear arms by claiming there will be blood in the streets, all the while having a disarmed populace being able to do nothing about all the blood running in the streets; decided to get all knee deep in hypocrisy doo doo. Well, not only have the dug in their collective heels while innocent men, women and children are being slaughtered thanks to the success of gun control, but now they have added a dollop of hypocrisy to the bloody stew. In response to the following billboard placed in Chicago:   The Chicago police issued a statement saying: “military style weapons belong on the battlefield and not on the street.” I know that little quip is all...

Another WTF moment from the ATF

There is a trial going on in the Supreme Court that isn’t getting too much press but if nothing else it highlights the pointlessness of gun control and the ATF in general. Abramski v United States The facts of the case are pretty straight forward.  A Law Enforcement Officer from Virginia goes to a gun shop and buys a gun.  He then takes the gun to a Pennsylvania FFL Dealer and transfers it over to his uncle for whom the gun was for.  The officer, Mr. Abramski, picked up the gun as a gift for his uncle and followed the law about transferring ownership to a resident of another state, hence the FFL transfer and the NICS check.  The uncle had given his nephew money to purchase the gun but the act of picking it up and driving it to him was viewed by Mr. Abramski as a gift....

Treat a lady like a whore, you shouldn’t be surprised when she slaps you

Gun makers are finally saying enough is enough.  For years, gun companies have remained in the gun control heavy states that they were founded in, or they continued to deal with states that chip away at the freedom of the 2nd Amendment . As the title goes, a number of gun makers have said enough is enough and have either moved their operations or have basically boycotted selling their wares to certain states. Of course, this hurts gun owners and workers most, but maybe if the people get upset enough and see that jobs are hightailing out of their state they MIGHT take an interest in who is on the ballot in November. On the 22nd of January, Smith and Wesson joined Ruger in declaring that they will no longer sell their weapons to California based directly on the folly of gun controllers who think that microstamping is in...

Does America need to look to Mexico for a reminder of the true meaning of the 2nd Amendment?

The 2nd Amendment isn’t about hunting. That is a well and established fact. And while the 2nd Amendment is about defense it does not end there. You see, the Right to Keep and Bear Arms goes so much further than simply defending yourself and your property.  It was enumerated in the Constitution so that the people would always have the means in which to defend their liberty and freedom from dangers both foreign AND domestic.  Namely its own government…or those who act freely with the government’s allowance. And, despite what VP Biden would have you believe, you need a little more than granddaddy’s ole double barrel shotgun blasting warning shots to do so. But in the US, it seems many have forgotten our roots.  That, while this country was founded on ideals, it was forged at the muzzle of a gun and the tip of a bayonet. For those...

Racist Gun Control Laws Denied Martin Luther King Jr the Right to Defend Himself

The basis for gun control has always been racist in nature.  It started in the South to ensure that freed slaves wouldn’t be allowed to defend themselves. It has expanded over the years to encompass a larger range of goals such as controlling the populace at large and centralizing power within the government; can’t have those uppity peons thinking they are citizens after all. So it should come as no surprise that in 1956 when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr applied for a concealed weapons permit in Alabama, due to his receiving constant death threats and having his house BOMBED, he was denied. If a man like Dr. King wasn’t “worthy” to be given a concealed weapons permit then I submit that as proof that any notion of needing to ask the government for permission before exercising a right is flawed.  If a civil rights leader who promotes non-violence...

Another Activist Judge, Another Double Standard Stickin It To The 2nd Amendment

Judges are SUPPOSED to be like umpires or referees. I mean that, though you may not agree with them they are consistent.  In being such they do not favor some rights more than others. Yet once again, an activist judge has decided to toss out the will of the people on logic that would be unheard of if used with regard to the 2nd Amendment. Commonwealth Court Judge Bernard L. McGinley, a Democrat,  has tossed out Pennsylvania’s Voter ID law because: “the law would unreasonably burden the fundamental right to vote, and the state had been unable to convincingly explain why it was necessary.” Funny, examples of voter fraud aren’t convincing but somehow Andrew Cuomo, Barack obama and other rabid gun controllers speaking in hyperbole is convincing? There is NO evidence that gun control has stopped or reduced gun crime.  In FACT, over the past 100 years, whenever major...

Oklahoma Judge Makes Strong Argument to Repeal SAFE Act and Gun Bans

They say politics make the strangest bedfellows. Ironically, a liberal activist judge in Oklahoma has once again furthered the judicial basis to strengthen 2nd Amendment rights of Americans…completely unintentionally. While ruling to gut not only the Constitution of Oklahoma but also to force the Okie state to recognize marriage licenses from other states, U.S. District Judge Terrence Kern forwarded the 2nd Amendment. You see, the voters of Oklahoma voted to amend their state constitution to specify that marriage is between a man and a women.  Apparently, states rights don’t really matter to Judge Kern when he can just imagine that the issue of marriage is somehow in the US Constitution.  It’s not. But let’s pretend that Kern’s ruling that the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment is somehow relevant to gay marriage. I say it like that because marriage can be viewed like tax breaks.  A state may dictate...

The Cheapening of Achievement

In the world where everyone gets a trophy and “you are special just because” comes another story that cheapens achievement.  It’s a story that actually mocks the central figure. It’s the story of Alex Wolfe. Alex is an 8th grader at Saint Albans City School in Vermont and he is blind. When I first got wind of this story it was translated something like this; “Blind 8th Grader makes big shot in Basketball Game”. I was very interested because I thought that was great, someone overcame a disability to achieve greatness.  I had no idea how he could, maybe some crazy echo location ability or he might have been a free throw specialist and some freak foul injured another player and he had to go in and win the game on a foul/technical shot. Then I read the story and saw the tape.  It was a mockery of achievement and...

Actors Who Are Pro Gun

In la-la land when tend to think in terms of Liberals and Conservatives, we find that Liberals are far and away more numerous in the acting profession than Conservatives.  That seems pretty clear, though I feel many right leaners tend to stay quiet about their views in order to have a career and I won’t fault them for that. But here is the funny thing, the right to keep and bear arms is not a Liberal v Conservative issue (though it often falls that way), it is a control v freedom issue and many of my friends who are center left have come to embrace gun ownership as part of the American identity.  While we may not agree on healthcare, taxes or any other big government socialist like agenda’s we come together on the 2nd Amendment. It is the notion of freedom and control of one’s own destiny that...

Gov Cuomo endorses actions by retired cop who killed rude movie theater patron

A retired police officer shot two people, one fatally, during a cell phone dispute inside a Florida movie theater yesterday. 71 year old, retired Tampa, FL cop Curtis Reeves asked 43 year old Chad Oulson to stop texting during the movie.  When Chad refused Curtis left to alert staff.  Upon his return Chad asked if Curtis went and told on him at which point an argument broke out. At this point, Curtis took out his sidearm and shot Chad Oulson and his wife Nicole.  Chad would die of his wounds. ————————————————— UPDATE: According to the police report the incident took place during the previews and not the movie itself.  Reeves is attempting to claim self defense as a bag of popcorn was thrown at him.  Witnesses claim no physical contact occurred between the two men (save the popcorn) before Reeves shot and killed Oulson.  The report can be read...

Holder’s Hypocrisy Dance on Gay Marriage and Guns

Utah’s voters passed a resolution to not recognize gay marriages within their state.  Much like when California also overwhelmingly passed a similar resolution those on the losing side of the issue sued to have the will of the people overturned. Unlike California, the governor of Utah is not complicit the undermining of his own constituency’s voice and decided to fight the suit. Initially an activist judge, Roberty Shelby, ruled that gay marriages must be performed in Utah.  Roughly 1300 such marriages were allowed to go forward until the Supreme Court finally stepped in to place a stay on the ruling until the appeal of Utah was heard. This is where corrupt Attorney General Eric Holder and the Obama Administration decide to get involved. Eric Holder has released a statement saying that the Federal Government will recognize these marriages even if their state does not. Here is the video, take...

Non-Gun Real World Example Of “Better To Have and Not Need Than Need and Not Have”

Gun control zealots are all about bemoaning the point that the chances of a person needing a gun are remote.  It may suprise many of my readers but I agree with them.  Fortunately the vast majority of gun owners will never have to use their firearm to protect themselves. But so too will a vast majority of homeowners not have their house burn down yet no one is suggesting that fire insurance is somehow only purchased by pyromaniacs. Do seat belts make people worse and more reckless of drivers? I can go on and on with this track of logic, logic of course being the bane of gun control.  And I could highlight gun owners who were raped or robbed or murdered because they were in a “gun free” zone (or non gun owners who never had a chance), then show comparative footage of gun owners who stopped such...

The Correlation of Mentalities Between Planet Fitness and Gun Haters

In case you haven’t heard, mainly because you work out at a gym that doesn’t encourage laziness, sloth and in general flabby weakness, Planet Fitness has banned squat racks from their establishments. You can read more on that here: Gym Removes Squat Racks for Being ‘Intimidating’ to Squishy Clients Now, don’t get me wrong, fat or weak people shouldn’t be mocked or humiliated at a gym when they are trying to better themselves but the idea that in order to do so you must undercut other people who wish to improve themselves is ridiculous. I think treadmills are stupid.  Many people get on the hamster wheel and take a leisurely stroll and think they are actually working out.  Do I think treadmills should be banned from gyms?  No, if someone wants to waste their time with it, it’s no skin off my nose.       But if I want...
