What the Founding Fathers and Jesus Had to Say About You and Guns

Last week, one of my readers made a comment in the comment section questioning why I call the right to keep and bear arms my “God given right.” He spouted off a lot of anger about the notion and he highlighted exactly what the gun controllers would have us believe, that the right to keep and bear arms is a Man given right.  You see, if it’s a right given by man it can be taken by man. Here’s his entire comment: While I do agree that you should have the right to carry a firearm, not an m60 but a real side arm, where in the bible does it say that you’re allowed to carry a firearm? If you want to make a cogent argument for carrying a firearm leave God out of it. Otherwise you sound like a nut ball, gun toting, redneck, crazy person. There is...

Republican Gov Snyder Turns His Back On The 2nd Amendment

Republican Governor Rick Snyder of Michigan vetoed 2 bills recently that would have helped law abiding citizens be able to protect themselves without having to kow tow to yet another layer of governmental bureaucracy. As it stands now applicants for weapons permits must go through a review board process which can easily be stacked with agenda driven gun controllers who can simply say “NO” to an applicant. The two measures, Senate Bills 789 and 790, would have mandated an end to the review board process across the state. In their stead, county clerks would have assumed the task of issuing concealed carry permits as long as the applicant met all requirements and passes a background check from the State Police. Basically what these bills would do is strip an unfair and arbitrary level of gun control from the process.  No longer could applicants be rejected or otherwise harrassed by the...

Better BS, Better Hypocrisy, Papa John’s Stance on Guns

On Sunday January 11th a pizza delivery girl was attacked at gunpoint by two thugs looking to rob her and who knows what else.  Thankfully, since this took place in Decatur Georgia and not New York or Washington DC, things turned out a little differently than the attackers would have thought as the girl pulled out her own gun and shot one of them, 24 yo Donquaz Stevenson, in the face after she was knocked to the ground. For this act of self defense the woman faced termination of a different sort as her exercising her right not to be raped and murdered by thugs goes against Papa John’s corporate policy.  Word came out yesterday though, no doubt in large part to the public outcry, that Papa John’s will NOT be firing the employee. When I first heard about that I felt like going out and buying a Papa...

If James Madison Wrote The Bill Of Rights Like Liberals Would (video)

James Madison, one of the founding fathers of this great nation of ours is also known colloquially as the “Father of the Bill of Rights.”  You know the Bill of Rights i’m talking about…the one with that pesky little 2nd Amendment that drives gun controllers crazy. The 2nd Amendment that Madison stated in the Federalist papers #46 ensures that “the ultimate authority resides in the people alone.”  Also from #46, his belief that “Americans have the right and advantage to being armed,” the advantage being over the Europeans who exist in a state of servitude. The same Madison who, on June 8th, 1789 stood before Congress and declared “The right of the people to keep and bear…arms shall not be infringed. A well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained to arms, is the best and most natural defense of a free country.” Before the gun controllers...

Follow the Rules or You’ll Get Your Finger Shot Off…or Worse (Video)

How difficult is it…REALLY…to follow Colonel Jeff Coopers 4 simple rules to firearm safety? They’ve been around for DECADES so they should be ingrained in every gun owner and should be instilled in new gun owners before they ever pick up their first firearm. The rules that go like this: All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy. (For those who insist that this particular gun is unloaded, see Rule 1.) Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target. This is the Golden Rule. Its violation is directly responsible for about 60 percent of inadvertent discharges. Identify your target, and what is behind it. Never shoot at anything that you have not positively identified. Nearly every negligent discharge that I have ever heard of is...

Indiana Takes First Step To Become Constitutional Carry State

Constitutional Carry is the precedent currently set in 5 states which dictates that a law abiding citizen needs no permission or permit from the government to exercise their God given right to keep and bear arms. Alaska, Wyoming, Vermont, Arizona and Arkansas may have a new state joining their ranks if State Rep. Jim Lucas of Indiana has anything to say about it. Lucas has introduced House Bill 1144 which would strike down the permitting scheme currently in place and would repeal whole chunks of the nearly 30 pages of laws dealing with carrying firearms. Most important among them is the “poll tax” that requires law abiding citizens to pay for the ability to exercise their rights.  Colloquially known as purchasing a carry permit. If this bill passes it will take effect on July 1, 2015. Lucas puts it rather succinctly as to whom this bill is directed at: “This...

Missouri Looks To Infringe on 2nd Amendment via Taxation

What happens when big taxing liberalism and gun hating statism come together?  Thanks to one state lawmaker in Missouri the answer is now revealed.  You get a “special sales tax” levied against gun owners in order to pay for something that doesn’t directly benefit them at all. As a libertarian I’m all about “use taxes.”  The notion that if you use something then it is ok to be taxed for it.  Case in point, in Pennsylvania in order to use the state game land target ranges you have to pay $30 for the year and you can shoot all you want.  No new taxes doled out to the masses to pay for something that not everyone uses.  An added benefit to this is that it is harder to raise fees “under the radar” that people pay directly.  Taxes on the other hand are raised all the time and people...

Cop Tries To Murder Dog, Misses and Kills Woman Instead

It is long past time that we stop giving cops the green light to murder domestic animals without any repercussions.  It was only a matter of time before someone else got hurt because of a cop with cynophobia. Before, it was only the innocent animals that were being gunned down like this innocent PUPPY walking away from couple of cops and was shot because of some sick twisted jollies that the officer was getting from killing little animals: Warning Disturbing Video Out of Control Police Execute Innocent PUPPY That Was Walking Away From Them Or when this jackbooted thug shot OVER a locked fence to kill a dog while the dog was in its own yard: Thug with badge kills another unarmed member of an innocent family Can we really be shocked when a cop with an itchy trigger finger and dog murder on his mind misses the animal and...

0 for 29 Women Have Passed Marine Officer Infantry Training; Why That’s A Good Thing

Two more female officers dropped out of the Marines Infantry Officer Course after day one, taking the total of females who attempted and subsequently failed at 29 total.  I think this is great. Now, some of you may think that I am against women serving in combat roles.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  I think if there are women who are capable and are willing to put their lives on the line in order to defend this country, more power to them. What I am AGAINST is the endangering of Marines and Soldiers due to political correctness that would have the standards lowered just so some feminazi can put a feather in her cap and crow about how women can do everything a man can. By and large though, that is just not the truth.  Men and women are created differently with different strengths and weaknesses.  Are...

New DC Mayor to City: “You have a mayor who hates guns”

To be honest, I am a fan of politicians who shut the filter down and are totally honest.  At least until their handlers get a hold of them and they inevitably backtrack on whatever controversial belief they had recently pontificated on. The most recent case of this is with self professed gun hater and rights infringer, Muriel Bowswer, the new Mayor of the District of Columbia.  It’s no shock that a gun hating liberal Democrat has been elected as Mayor of DC, but what was a bit different is that Bowswer didn’t hide her disdain behind the false narrative of other gun controllers by saying she was just against “illegal” guns.  No, Bowser is against ALL guns. While speaking at the Washington Interfaith Network Meeting Bowser spoke quite candidly about her disdain for gun owners, the Constitution and the peoples’ rights in general by saying: “You have a mayor...

Another Bloomberg Gun Control Lackey Faces Jail Time

It seems that Michael Bloomberg should have focused more on the illegal politicians he has supported over the years rather than the “illegal” guns he purports to be against.  Following a long line of criminals who have been allies of Michael Bloomberg, the Attorney General of Pennsylvania, Kathleen Kane, may soon find her name along these other “distinguished” politicians who are ardent supporters of Michael Bloomberg and vice versa. Full disclosure: Kathleen Kane has been on my crap list since day one.  I knew that she was getting her marching orders from Michael Bloomberg and she has exercised her authority as AG to make it ever more difficult for gun owners in Pennsylvania.  She started out by trashing reciprocity agreements with other states.  She also refuses to work on any new agreements so the ability of Pennsylvanians to travel with their 2nd Amendment rights intact is being curtailed by her...

The VA Tries To Trick Veterans Into Adding Their Firearms To A Federal Registry

Any rational minded person understands that the reason you have a firearm registry is in order to make it easier to confiscate those weapons later.  I mean, a registry doesn’t stop crime, it doesn’t help solve crimes either unless someone actually LEAVES the gun behind, and it doesn’t make anyone safer. What it does do is give the Federal Government an EZ Pass on the highway of tyranny.  This is of extra import when it comes to military veterans as the Obama administration has all ready made it clear that  it views veterans as a terrorist subset of Americans. Case in point, Operation Vigilant Eagle, a program launched by the Department of Homeland Security in 2009.  Military veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan are being characterized as extremists and potential domestic terrorist threats because they may be “disgruntled, disillusioned or suffering from the psychological effects of war.” How easy is it to...

A Gift From The People To John Boehner

On the eve of the election for Speaker of the House one can only hope that the GOP has the fortitude to shake off the conditioning that the establishment seems to have saddled them with and do the right thing. Let’s hope the GOP has the courage to use the sentiment of A.F Branco’s illustration from Comically Incorrect and find someone BETTER for America than John Boehner.  |  |  |  | \/ You can see who I think should be the next speaker of the house here: Replace Boehner with someone who will fight for America   Related articles BREAKING: Popular Congressman Announces He’s Challenging Boehner Establishment Circles the Wagons to Defend John Boehner Uh-oh: John Boehner is in HUGE...

Animal Kingdom Strikes Down Drones for Privacy (Video)

As police and government authorities are ramping up  their privacy invading abilities by using drones to conduct warrantless searches in clear violation of the 4th Amendment, or to just flat out SPY on people for no better reason to do so than they can, the spectre of Orwell’s “1984” looms ever larger. Of course, society is partly to blame, not only in the allowing of the death of privacy but also in its facilitation.  How many millions of people willingly divulge the intimacies of their lives on facebook, twitter, intstagram and the like? The idea of personal privacy as an inherent right and something to be valued is being eroded and is being equated to having “something to hide” or “untrustworthy” or that somehow not wanting your life readily available for public consumption makes you some kind of anachronism. Well, there’s at least one critter out there who isn’t...

Push Your Rep To Elect Allen West as Speaker of the House

Funny thing about the Speaker of the House job that I find many Americans are unaware of.  You don’t actually have to be a member of Congress in order to be elected as Speaker of the House.  So he or she can basically be anyone…who will then be behind the Vice President in line of succession tot he Presidency. Other than that, what the primary job of the Speaker is to get things DONE. Unfortunately, for the past four year we have had the crybaby John Boehner as the Speaker of the house.  In the following joint letter that I endorsed with gun right activist Dana Loesch, conserviative pundit Michele Malkin, fellow Liberty Alliance Members Joe Wurzelbacher, Kevin Jackson, Steve Deace et al the reasons to be against John Boehner maintaining his post as Speaker are clear: “On January 6th, the House of Representatives will hold its first vote of...

Can’t Sleep? In New York They’ll Seize Your Guns For Insomnia

The inevitable erosion of the 2nd Amendment continues undaunted in the Empire State fiefdom of Andrew Cuomo.  The following story is a chilling reminder that the state will go to great lengths in order to strip you of your rights to keep and bear arms and will do so unabashedly by invading your privacy and violating doctor/patient confidentiality. Donald Montgomery was a Navy Veteran and a retired police officer with 30 years of exemplary service under his belt.  In May of 2014 after moving from his previous home in Rochester to Long Island, Montgomery was having some trouble finding restful sleep.  A common occurrence that afflicts people getting on in years but also one that is understandable in people who move great distances after living a long time in one area. Retired Detective Sergeant Montgomery voluntarily sought out help in order to get a handle on the insomnia.  Unfortunately,...

Musical Guns – A Gunpowder Homage To Pitch Perfect (video)

In case you never saw the movie Pitch Perfect, Anna Kendrick uses an empty cup to keep the beat while she sings  “When I’m Gone.” She did it a capella and it was pretty good. In truth, until now, I never thought it was missing anything. Then I saw this and realized what was missing…FIREPOWER. This is Nashville singer Jim Huish’s rendition of the song with a 2nd Amendment twist. Enjoy! True, the vocals are drowned out a bit at the end by the near automatic fire, but still…if that didn’t bring a smile to your face then this winter has frozen your heart my friend.  This is pretty clever interpretation of what Ms. Kendrick did in the movie and the coordination of which wasn’t easy by any means. For those of you who hadn’t seen the Pitch Perfect, here is the clip in which I have been referencing http://youtu.be/v2mawaBrvFg Despite what the gun...

New Year, New Laws, Same Absurdity

Welcome to the year 2015.  Along with the big party  and the personal resolutions there is yet another tradition that comes with the dawn of a new year.  January is often the time when laws from the previous year are enacted.  This year is no different. With the Federal Government this is the year where citizens will be forced to pay a fine if they do not yield to the governments dominion over their lives and purchase Obamacare. But of course that is not all, there are 3,541 new rules and regulations that rang in their first new year along with us in a register 78,978 pages long.    While among those 3,541 new rules and regulations there are plenty of personal infringements and undermining of small businesses, I want to focus on the new laws passed on the STATE level that are just awful.  So bad I question whether...
