Why would I ever trust Obama when he says he won’t come after my guns?

It seems that our current President has taken to heart a lesson Nazi Propaganda Guru Joseph Goebbels mastered in the first half of the century; that being: “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Case in point: For YEARS  Obama was saying “if you like your plan you can keep your plan PERIOD”, yet on November 4th, when the State can no longer shield the people from the truth about the economic consequences...

The Hypocrisy Of The 14th Amendment When Not Applied To Gun Rights

Once again an activist judge has disenfranchised the will of voters. This time in Utah, where voters in 2004 overwhelmingly voted to ban gay marriage, a radical judged cited the 14th Amendment as reason to usurp the ballot box to impose his own will upon the people of the Beehive State. Like in California before, the silly notion that VOTING should actually count for anything is a foreign notion to these radical judges. What is worse than their legislating from the bench is the hypocrisy of their reasoning. U.S. District Judge Robert J. Shelby declared in his ruling that the voter passed initiative declaring that marriage is defined as being between a man and a woman is unconstitutional based off of the 14th Amendment. My issue with using the 14th Amendment by radical judges is that they apply it unfairly, pushing forward their own liberal agenda while in the same...

The Danger of Forgetting to Fear the Night

Seeing as today is the Winter Solstice, the day with the least amount of sunlight and therefore the most darkness in the Northern Hemisphere, I thought I would reflect on the troubling pattern of society losing it’s fear of the night.  Perhaps fear is the wrong word though, so let us say that society has lost its respect for the night. Back when humans were living in caves and huddled around a fire we feared the night for it was full of predators and dangers.  Be it a sabre tooth tiger looking for a meal or a mastodon herd trampling on by. As society evolved our caves made way for towns with houses  and castles with walls, yet we still did not trust the night for dangers still prowled in the enveloping darkness.  Wolves and bears and lions and such.  But also another predator prowled the night, one that...

A very Merry Chuck Norris Christmas

I love Chuck Norris.  I love Chuck Norris-isms.  I love the fact that Chuck is such a good guy he let it appear as if Bruce Lee beat him in one of Bruce Lee’s movies.  I love the fact that Chuck is 73 years old but looks better than most people 3 decades his junior. And I absolutely LOVE this commercial which wishes a Merry Christmas to all.   In case it doesn’t look familiar it is a response to Jean Claude Van Damme’s less awesome (but pretty good) Volvo commercial.   Merry Christmas and remember Chuck Norris sees you when you’re sleeping, he knows when you’re awake, he knows if you’ve been bad or good so be good for goodness sake or suffer a roundhouse kick to the...

In America, freedom of speech is encouraged…so long as you agree with the liberal left

One of the most hypocritical aspects in America is the notion that liberals are some bastions for freedom, acceptance and tolerance. That’s horse manure. Liberals propagate this false notion that everyone should have a voice and everyone should be accepted for their views.  But in truth, liberals believe that everyone should have a voice and everyone should be accepted for their views so long as they speak in agreement and share the same views as liberals. The most recent example making headlines is that of Phil Robertson who dared speak his mind with regards to homosexuality. Tamara Jackson did a great story on the fallout that can be read here: A&E: Phil Robertson on hiatus after frank comments on homosexuality! Phil Robertson gave an interview in which he stated that he doesn’t believe that homosexuality is right and that he does not embrace it.  Yet he also said that he...

A&E: Phil Robertson on hiatus after frank comments on homosexuality!

Every time Phil Robertson shows up for an interview he makes news: in an industry built on glitz and glamor, Phil has no facade. Duck Commander’s interview with GQ has made more news, and landed the patriarch in Duck Dynasty time-out. Phil quite openly told GQ that he could not imagine men enjoying intimacy with other men. And yes, he was quite plain-spoken, as always. When asked about sin Phil responded: Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men. Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong… Sin becomes fine. Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men. Of course GLAAD took immediate offense to Robertson’s statements and the organization’s Wilson Cruz noted: Phil and...

NJ Gun Control leads to death of man protecting his wife

Dustin Friedland, 30, was a Hoboken lawyer out shopping for Christmas presents with his wife, 27 year old Jamie.  Upon returning to their Range Rover the couple loaded up their vehicle with their gifts and Dustin, ever the gentlemen and loving husband opened the door for his wife and let her in first. Dustin then moved around the car to get in the driver’s side door. It was at this time he was approached by two men looking to carjack him. With his wife in the car Dustin’s instincts moved to protect her…but he is in New Jersey. A restrictive may-issue state where only those specifically employed in security work or can produce a  “justifiable need” can get a permit to carry a firearm.  As I stated, Dustin was a lawyer from Hoboken; if he were to claim he wanted to carry a firearm in order to protect his...

DC looking to nickel and dime gun owners to death

What is the result of not protecting the right to keep and bear arms in the manner in which the 2nd Amendment enumerates; ie shall not be infringed? You get the city of Washington DC going out of their way to make criminals out of the law abiding.  Or at the very least trying to dissuade people from exercising their rights by adding so many fees and hoops to jump through that they will just become disenfranchised. DC has changed its gun laws again, this time requiring RE-registration for all guns in the city.  Failing to do so can result in fines up to $1000 and a YEAR in jail. As many people have pointed out, the hassle and headache of trying to register for a handgun in DC is rigged to try and dissuade you as much as possible from exercising your right.  For one thing you have...

Top 5 Cars Obama Doesn’t Want You To Buy This Christmas

Thinking about how Obama does his best to ruin Christmas for everyone (high unemployment, giving Iran free run at a nuclear weapon, bankcrupting people by forcing them to buy overpriced terrible insurance etc.) I thought I would compile a list of the top 5 cars Obama doesn’t want you to buy this Christmas. 5. The Lexus LS. Japan’s flagship luxury model  made by Toyota.  It’s not that Obama wants you to avoid buying this car because it’s not American made, he doesn’t want you to buy it because his buddies in China are having a little row with the Japanese over some islands in the East China Sea and wants to do them a solid.  In the spirit of…Mao? 4. The Zenvo ST1. This Danish made super car is a beauty Obama doesn’t want you to buy.  After his kissy face selfie with Danish Prime Minster Helle Thorning-Schmidt, he...

Man Finds Loophole To Fight Government Tyranny…Of Light Bulbs

What many do not realize is that come Jan 1st 2014, the manufacturing or importation of incandescent light bulbs will be illegal in the United States. The luminous prohibition was set in motion in 2007 with a bill that set strict minimum efficiencies that were impossible for traditional incandescent bulbs to meet. Much like how gun controllers want to impose end around bans on firearms by requiring technological standards that don’t exist, such as microstamping, so too have the haters of the little bulb that has lit our nights for some 100+ years use standards that are impossible to meet. The result, once the stockpiles of warm yellow incandescent light bulbs are gone, we as a nation will be FORCED to use those cold dead fluorescent bulbs or dimmer bank breaking LED lights that start at $15 a bulb. After efforts in Congress to avert the light bulb prohibition...

We shouldn’t accept “Just Following Orders” – Thanks to Sheriffs across the country, we don’t have to

There is something reassuring about Sheriffs that doesn’t extend to other police officers in my mind. Perhaps it is that the Sheriffs are elected and as such cannot be a scourge upon the populace in the way that insulated and crooked cops can be. So often we see crooked cops being brought up on civil rights violations, being found guilty (or the town/city will settle before then), yet the cop goes right back on the beat with little to no accountability for his actions.  In fact, it is the taxpayers who often have to cover the cost of the violations that said crooked cop engages in to begin with.  In that way the taxpayers are paying for their own civil rights being violated. Yet with Sheriffs and their deputies we, as voters and taxpayers, have a direct avenue of recourse if they try and do the same…we vote them...

Gun Control Philosophy Run Amok: College Seeks To BAN Nerf Guns

Missouri State University is actually weighing a campus wide ban on Nerf guns.  They wouldn’t be the first though as Colorado University passed a ban back in 2009 saying that Nerf toys violated the weapons policy and having one would lead to your arrest and treatment as an armed gunman. The matter in Missouri came up during the week long student game of “Humans vs Zombies”. If you are unfamiliar with this game it is basically as it sounds.  Though it may change slightly in rules depending on where it is played, I’ll explain  the gist of it.  You start out with two teams, Humans and Zombies though the zombie team is few and the Humans outnumber them greatly. Each team where’s a headband or armband that can distinguish them from a non player and from the other team.  The band is worn around the arm for a Human...

Surprise, gun free zone fails again. But so does the over coddling of today’s youth

In the most recent school shooting in Colorado the shooter, who was not repelled by the magic pixie dust powered “Gun Free Zone” sign, was not a mass shooter but a student with a specific target in mind. 18 year old Karl Halverson Pierson walked into Arapahoe High School armed with a shotgun and 2 Molotov cocktails looking to kill the Librarian and Debate Coach Tracy Murphy after Murphy had benched him during the last debate competition. A few things spring to mind. First, once again the “Gun Free Zone” shows how utterly ridiculous it is at actually stopping anyone with malicious intent from entering. Secondly, the teacher was lucky that Pierson got his hand on a shotgun because he didn’t hide it and that gave Murphy enough warning to flee the school before he got shot.  A gun is not the only way to kill a teacher as...

Imagination Nazis Trying To Eliminate Childhood Play

The age of crackpot zero tolerance nonsense needs to come to an end. As a child, I played cops and mobsters, cowboys and Indians and army vs army.  If I was a child today I probably would have been locked up on someone’s terrorism watch list as would most of us over the age of 25. What has led me to this belief?  Because the Imagination Nazis are out in force, goosestepping all over imagination and childhood play.  Banning toy guns apparently isn’t good enough for some “educators” like the South Eastern School District in Pennsylvania. This school district has the tagline: “Providing Progressive Education to Strengthen the Global Community”. With a motto like that is it any wonder that the powers that be suspended a 10 year old boy, Johnny Jones, for pantomiming a bow and arrow? According to the Rutherford Institute, a civil liberties organization: Jones was...

What I learned In Court: Don’t Facilitate Your Own Injustice

I found myself in traffic court in the cesspool state of New York (from that you probably can tell how well this is going to turn out ) recently to fight a bogus violation of turning left at an intersection on Halloween a little over a month ago. Why was it bogus?  Because on top of there being no sign hanging next to the traffic light (which was green at the time) the secondary sign that was at the left corner had been bent to face another direction.  Probably some Halloween hooligans up to some mischief. Regardless, I was unfamiliar with the road and made a seemingly legal left hand turn.  I was subsequently pulled over and ticketed.  The officer asked why I turned left and I said there wasn’t any sign.  His response was “They’re all over the place”. So, thinking I might have missed something I went...

Teach a child what is right and when they are old they will not stray from the lesson

What makes a tragedy truly tragic, is when it could have been easily avoided. But for the ignorance and stupidity of a 20 year old, a 16 year old hero lost her life in Indiana. Three years ago Aubrey Peters, at the age of 13, jumped into an icy reservoir and saved the lives of 2 small children. Yesterday she was shot in the chest and died, killed by a man who should have known better than to play with a gun as if it were a toy. 20 year old Jacob Travis McDaniel has been charged with 2 felonies, reckless homicide and pointing a firearm.  I personally hope he gets sentenced to the fullest extent of the law because even though he didn’t intend to shoot Aubrey his idiocy and ignorance cost a young girl her life. While Peters along with a group of friends were hanging out...

US Spymasters use octopus to mock Americans in regards to the death of privacy

The octopus.  For more than a century, it has been the animal of choice to illustrate an overreaching, omnipresent and nefarious organization with ill intent.  The Spymasters in the US feel that they are so above reproach that they freely advertise themselves with the symbol. While fitting, it is still a wonder at how tone-deaf the people at the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office are that they have not only chosen the octopus as their mascot but have fully embraced its connotations. The new logo features a giant, world-dominating octopus, its sucker-covered tentacles encircling the planet while it looks on with determination, a steely glint in its enormous eye. The logo carries a five-word tagline: “Nothing is beyond our reach.” Nothing is beyond their reach.  No doubt.  The death of individual privacy, the shredding of the 4th Amendment, the tyranny of the State, nothing seems beyond the reach of the US...

My problem with the Utah CCW Permit

You would think that a state founded by people who faced government oppression would have a healthy distrust of the Federal Government. After being driven from their homes in the east, having their First Amendment rights stripped, and having their territory whittled away by DC cartographers in order to minimize their influence and power in government, one might imagine the state of Utah would be a little less willing to play ball with the Federal Government.   Utah just passed the 500,000 mark for issuing concealed carry permits.  That’s about 25% of the population of the state. That doesn’t mean that 1 in 5 Utahns are walking around armed, though that’d be a great start.   Around 60% of those permits are for out of state residents who live in places that their state license might not grant them a great deal of reciprocity.  A Utah CCW will get...
