CA Denies Hero Cop CCW Because She Collects Disability…Way To Stay Classy Cali

wheelchair

In 2009, Ally Jacobs, a police officer at UC Berkeley, was credited for helping crack the 18 year long kidnapping case where Jaycee Dugard was abducted by Phillip and Nancy Garrido. Jacobs intuition and deductive skills led to the rescue of the victime and she was hailed as a hero.  Now, since Jacobs recently retired due to medical reasons she is getting a nice boot to the face by the State of California.

You see, in California, under state law, retired cops are entitled to a permit to carry a concealed weapon. But Jacobs was told she was ineligible for a retired officer card with an endorsement to carry a concealed weapon because since she is receiving disability income she isn’t considered “retired.”

Now, I have my own issues with cops getting a greenlit shall issue CCW while other law abiding citizens in the Golden State must jump through hoops and are dependent on the whims of the issuing authority, but now it seems that the powers that be are turning on their own.

This type of semantic judo that California is trying to perform in order to deny the right to keep and bear arms is even MORE disgusting than usual.  Where your average citizen must deal with the tyrannical laws that have been set up to deny them their rights, Allison Jacobs has the law on her side and STILL California is trying to strip her of it via semantic dissection.  All because Jacobs is disabled?  Disgusting.

This reminds me of TSA’s handling of people with disabiilties like barring a MUTE woman from boarding a plane unless she speaks or demanding that a double amputee Marine veteran walk before he’s allowed through security.

I wish I could say that any of this is surprising but in truth it really isn’t.  I have come to expect such displays of governmental abuse and tyranny on the left coast.  And I know it is not the entire state of California but really…you get what you vote for.

If any good can be salvaged from this incident let it be a reminder to police officers; that when you serve tyrants you are only protected by them so long as you serve.  Once the badge comes off you become just like the rest of us.

The disabled deserve the right to protect themselves just as much as all other citizens of the USA!

Kalifornistan is a lost cause, only good thing is the next big quake will kill half of them.

    • BeriBeri99

I like to spell that Californicatia . . . however both spellings work just fine.

Thanks, I’ll be sure to let any of my family members who die in such a quake that you’re happy they’re dead… 🙁

If they are a part of voting in this liberal mess then…. and of they are a conservative why stay in a state where you are hated.

        • JP

Because I was born here, and I have friends here. My life is here. Even if I’m hated, that doesn’t mean we have to hate in return…

          • Mary Brown

Kalifornistan isn’t a life, liberals telling you what you can own, that it has to be registered, that it is illegal… hell with that. Plus some of the worst taxes in the US

THIS IS A SHAME the one that are denying this may wish one day she did have one. to save their rotten behinds and she has a right to deny them her service.

I am not surprised, only disgusted, and if she carries anyway( she has to protect herself) and is caught she will be crucified, and a gang-banger from oakland gets a slap on the wrist and street cred…. so sad.

OK, I’ll ask the obvious question. What is the nature of her disability? Is it relevant? With these answers, we can have a decent discussion.

Gabby Gifford is disabled, bless her. Who would want to give her a CCL?

THAT’S A VIOLATION OF THE ADA ACT. AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES. YOUR DISABLED AND CANNOT DEFEND YOURSELF PHYSICALLY ,THEN YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO CARRY A CONCELLED FIREARM. MORE SO ,BECAUSE YOUR DISABLED. IF YOU CAN PASS THE RANGE TEST THEN YOUR OK. CALIFORNIA POLICE CHIEFS WANT MONEY. $I,000″S OF DOLLARS TO BUY THEM OFF TO OK YOUR APPLICATION. I KNOW A GUY WHO OWNS A FAST FOOD PLACE. GIVES COPS FREE FOOD. HE GOT A CCW. FU&*^K CALIFORNIA.

Seems to to be some info missing…. On the surface it does seem like an insult and usual government waffeling on interpretation of the law – or she got some-one PO’d.. Without knowing the nature and severity of why the officer is retired on medical leave, we should not rush to judgement.

“… she was ineligible for a retired officer card with an endorsement to carry a concealed weapon because since she is receiving disability income she isn’t considered “retired.”

Question: Are active, off duty officers barred from carrying? If so, and since she is not ‘retired’, she shouldn’t need a permit. I don’t think we got the whole story here. Smells like there’s a lot more to it that we don’t know.

Good point. The author clearly is omitting significant details. Deliberately?
I legally carry in CA with only a moderate amount of bureaucratic hassle.
I suspect that she has crossed a local politician.

The one good carry away from this, if there is one is, now she gets to feel what the rest of us feel like all the time. Welcome to the plight of the “average Joe” pull up a seat and sit awhile, hope you feel welcome!

The last statement in the article says it all: Once you have served your purpose, you are cat litter.

This ridiculous situation in California (and other states and cities) is getting to the point where citizens will be watched with interest in everything they do, publicly or privately.
