Capitalism and Technology Sounding Death Knell for Gun Control

As I had earlier this month, the 3D printer and PC Milling machine are sounding the death knell for Big Brother’s Gun Control schemes.  The technology is getting to the point where  ease and affordability of these machines has all but gutted the gun controllers argument that gun control is actually meant to target criminals. We all know that the truth is more nefarious than that.  Gun control is not about safety but about control.  Control of the populace.  When anyone can plug in a program, some metal and some time and come away with a functioning firearm the argument for gun control all but falls apart. Yes.  Criminals are going to use this so they don’t have to steal guns anymore, or go to Mexico and buy back Obama’s guns that he smuggled across the border. Also patriots will begin using these machines because the less interference and...

Entrepreneurs Railroaded by 1986 Gun Control Bill

In 1986 a gun control bill ludicrously dubbed the Firearm Owners Protection Act passed through congress.  It had a wide ranging number of gun control measures but the most prevalent one is that it banned the manufacture and sale of machine guns built after 1986. All automatic machine guns built prior to that year were still allowed to be transferred after paying an extortion transfer fee and special stamp tax.  Side note, didn’t we fight a revolution back in 1776 against stamp taxes?  (yes, stamp, same tyranny).  The number of legal machine guns with proper paperwork in the US stands at around 196,000 weapons. The point is that if you want a fully automatic machine gun you are allowed to get one so long as it was made prior to 1986 and you can afford it.  Since there is a finite supply the prices for these weapons have skyrocketed over...

Company Fires Employee For Having Gun…IN HIS OWN HOME

Under the guise of “zero tolerance”, gun hating private community Lakes of the Four Seasons (LOFS) has fired a seasonal landscaping employee of 21 years because he was a gun owner.  And no, I don’t mean that he was carrying a gun while working, nor did he have a gun in his car on LOFS property. Nino Ferlaino had worked for LOFS for 21 years before this summer when, in conversation amongst coworkers, he acknowledged that he believed in the 2nd Amendment and kept a gun at home. Two days following this conversation, on July 2nd, Ferlaino’s supervisor, Doug Weiss, approached him and asked him if he carried a gun. Ferlaino admitted that he owned a gun but never carried it while working. Let me interject something.  While in Ferlaino’s mind he was just having a pleasant break time conversation among coworkers, someone in that group heard “gun owner”...

Ghost Guns: Because Freedom Will Find a Way

With the advent of the affordable 3D printer and the PC connected milling machine, I recall the movie Jurassic Park.  In that movie Dr. Ian Malcolm, played by Jeff Goldblum, made an observation when Jurassic Park’s Creator, John Hammond, was explaining the measures they put in place to control the dinosaurs.  In particular, by making all the animals female they removed the ability for reproduction that wasn’t monitored and registered by the facility. To which Malcolm responded with: John, the kind of control you’re attempting simply is… it’s not possible. If there is one thing the history of evolution has taught us it’s that life will not be contained. Life breaks free, it expands to new territories and crashes through barriers, painfully, maybe even dangerously, but, uh… well, there it is. In response one of the technicians quipped: “You’re implying that a group composed entirely of female animals will…...

Gun Shop Owner Goes Off The Rails And Bans All Muslims From Buying Guns

When I was in the army, in a post 9/11 world, I was basically trained to killed Islamic terrorists.  When I came home I was able to differentiate between a middle eastern terrorist and a mid western cowboy hat wearing, F150 driving American who happens to pray in a mosque. Jan Morgan, owner of the Gun Cave, in Hot Springs Arkansas has come out and publicly and stated that she will NOT sell to Muslims and that her store is in fact a “Muslim Free Zone.” Morgan puts forth “facts” that she claims legitimizes her personal belief that punishing an entire sect of people for their right of religious choice is somehow valid. Here are her ten “facts” with my rebuttals in bold. 1) The Koran (which I have read and studied thoroughly and (which all Muslims align themselves with), contains 109 verses commanding hate, murder and terror against...

Have Gun Will Discount, Restaurant Offers Discount For Gun Carrying Patrons

I have long ago decided that if I ever opened up a service industry based business that I would offer a discount to people who open carry (or concealed carriers who can prove it) when they patron my establishment. Apparently this idea is not limited only to my brain as the notion has begun to spread: The owner of a popular Louisiana restaurant began giving customers a 10% discount off the cost of their meals providing they can prove they’re carrying a firearm. Liberals are not amused. Bergeron’s Restaurant owner Kevin Cox is bucking the trend of such chains as Chili’s, Sonic, and Chipotle, which now are “gun-free zones,” by actually encouraging patrons to carry when frequenting his Port Allen eatery. Cox had already been offering the discount to police officers, and then thought, why not do the same for lawful gun owners. “I just need to see a weapon,” Cox told...

Sign Brings Customers In…Gives Truth Out

A controversial message displayed on the outdoor marquee of Tactical Firearms, a gun dealer in the Houston suburb of Katy, Texas, has locals talking, though what some residents are saying can’t be repeated on a family website. The sign reads simple, “Does one of Obamas [sic] family members have to be beheaded for “change” to happen?” Read more at http://libertyunyielding.com/2014/09/14/sign-outside-tx-gun-store-takes-shot-obama-creates-stir-video/#o0VAtu3qOTxIOQMJ.99   I have been a fan of Tactical Arms for a while now, though I have never actually been there. I take on the mindset of Prince Edward in “A Knight’s Tale” when speaking to the peasent who pretended to be a knight: “You’re men love you.  If I knew nothing else about you, that would be enough.  But you also tilt when you should withdraw, and that is knightly too” So I don’t need to go to Katy, Texas and walk into Tactical Firearms because from all I have seen the...

CCW Permit Holder Stops Knife Wielding Madman at Grocery Store

In Salt Lake City Utah, a man walks into the Smith’s Marketplace grocery store, purchases a kitchen knife then heads to the parking lot and goes on a stabbing spree sending two to the hospital in critical condition. The number, thankfully was kept low because a law abiding citizen with a gun happened to be in the store and upon exiting Smith’s and seeing what was going on drew his firearm and subdued the knife wielder until police arrived. According to Salt Lake City Police Lt. Brian Purvis: “(The bystander) was suspicious of what might be going on, and when he saw the stabbing, he just drew his pistol and challenged the individual.” “This was a really volatile situation that could have gotten even worse.  (The bystander) was definitely in the right place at the right time.” Isn’t that EXACTLY what I and other gun rights advocates have been preaching...

Surprise, Anti-Gun Banks Rate Worst in Nation

Bank of America…Wells Fargo…JP Morgan Chase…Citibank. What do these four banks have in common?  Besides being “too big to fail” they also are too arrogant to actually give a damn about their customers. According  to MagnifyMoney, which analyzed complaints made to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB),these banks are the top offenders in…well…offending their clientele.  From predatory lending to misleading fine print and outright theft due to improper foreclosures, these banks have time and again gulled, cullied and diddled the American people out of billions of dollars. Yet, not only do these four banks rate as the most complained about financial institutions in the country but they also all have policies in place to punish, deny and/or harrass American’s who DARE to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights.  I don’t mean that these banks simply hide under the naive cloak of gun free zones in their establishments.  No, these banks have...

Chipolte take note: “Gun Free” Restaurant Robbed at Gunpoint

As you may have heard Chipolte has revised its gun policy. The restaurant chain is now banning guns within their stores and creating criminal empowerment zones.  In a statement released by the company they state: “Because the display of firearms in our restaurants has now created an environment that is potentially intimidating or uncomfortable for many of our customers, we think it is time to make this request.” Interesting, because a couple of anti gun rabble rousers go to social media and click a “like” button, Chipolte decides that they will make a company policy disarming all the law abiding people that would patron their restaurants. For those who will continue to eat at Chipolte, I wonder how intimidating and uncomfortable it will be for them when actual bad guys with guns come busting in the place with the freedom and foreknowledge that they can get in, rob and...

Selling…or sellout? That is the question for a Maryland Gun Dealer

I received a call Sunday afternoon by a producer from CBS News wanting to interview me on my thoughts about the owner of Maryland gun shop, Engage Armaments, retracting his idea of selling so called “smart” guns in his establishment. Concerning the interview, unfortunately the timing couldn’t work so I’ll be interested in seeing who they get to fill in tomorrow (Monday) night. Concerning the gun shop owner, Andy Raymond, here’s my take: First, I’m glad he listened to the sentiment of his customers.  Too often we see businesses give knee jerk reactions when an outside group gives astroturf outrage at something they don’t like.  Like how Starbucks kind of capitulated to snobby anti gun elitists who think themselves too good for Starbucks and wouldn’t be caught dead drinking someplace so “passe” to begin with. In Mr. Raymond’s situation though, the outrage is coming from people who actually PURCHASE...

Morgan takes long walk off short Pier…thanks America

While not as historic or memorable as in 1776 or in 1812, American’s have decided to kick the British in the keister and send them packing.  Or rather in this case, ONE Brit who invaded the homes of a few people each night. Piers Morgan, ranting lunatic of the gun control movement, has had his show sacked by CNN.  But it wasn’t the big wigs at CNN who sounded the death knell for Morgan’s show but rather the viewers who tired of hearing a pompous Brit duff rail about American culture and especially our viewpoints of the 2nd Amendment. Plus, being a liar doesn’t help. Morgan:  “If you don’t change your gun laws to at least try to stop this relentless tidal wave of murderous carnage, then you don’t have to worry about deporting me… I would… seriously consider deporting myself.” I guess by being a wishy washy wanker about...

Carrying guns and drinking booze

I know there are a wide range of opinions on the matter. And in truth I think guns and alcohol go together as well as driving and alcohol.  Yet, with that being said, who among us hasn’t had a drink with dinner at a restaurant and then drove home?  Just because a drop of alcohol passes our lips does not immediately make us drunken blathering idiots. It comes down to personal responsibility.  I know, in today’s America that is a radical concept. In Pennsylvania it is legal to carry a loaded firearm into a bar and have a drink.  I know in other states in the union they like to micromanage through legislation every facet of a person’s life in order to control them as much as possible “for their own good”. It always baffles me when government treats its citizens like helpless children and then are surprised when...

Introducing the New York Legal AR-15 rifle and the man bringing it to the Empire State

Nestled in the mountains of the southern Adirondacks is a gun shop that is fighting tyranny by giving back the 2nd Amendment to it’s patrons. With the passage of the SAFE Act and the measures within that are a cross between draconian and byzantine, sporting rifles such as the AR-15 have been prohibited simply because they look scary though they have no functional difference between any other popular hunting rifle. But, instead of just sitting back and accepting a broad sweeping infringement upon the rights of New Yorkers, Rich Sehlmeyer, owner of The Gun Shop at MacGregors, has been waging his own battle against the SAFE Act by helping oppressed New Yorkers keep possession of the most popular rifle in the country. A little bit about Rich and his gun shop first.  A small family business that started a decade ago with just 20 rifles and 5 handguns, the place...

“Assault” Weapons a no-no for citizens but “Patrol Rifles” are a go for cops

I guess we are going to start the week off with some gun control hypocrisy…shocker. The Chicago Police department, you know them; the ones who have fought against citizen’s right to keep and bear arms by claiming there will be blood in the streets, all the while having a disarmed populace being able to do nothing about all the blood running in the streets; decided to get all knee deep in hypocrisy doo doo. Well, not only have the dug in their collective heels while innocent men, women and children are being slaughtered thanks to the success of gun control, but now they have added a dollop of hypocrisy to the bloody stew. In response to the following billboard placed in Chicago:   The Chicago police issued a statement saying: “military style weapons belong on the battlefield and not on the street.” I know that little quip is all...

Treat a lady like a whore, you shouldn’t be surprised when she slaps you

Gun makers are finally saying enough is enough.  For years, gun companies have remained in the gun control heavy states that they were founded in, or they continued to deal with states that chip away at the freedom of the 2nd Amendment . As the title goes, a number of gun makers have said enough is enough and have either moved their operations or have basically boycotted selling their wares to certain states. Of course, this hurts gun owners and workers most, but maybe if the people get upset enough and see that jobs are hightailing out of their state they MIGHT take an interest in who is on the ballot in November. On the 22nd of January, Smith and Wesson joined Ruger in declaring that they will no longer sell their weapons to California based directly on the folly of gun controllers who think that microstamping is in...

The Correlation of Mentalities Between Planet Fitness and Gun Haters

In case you haven’t heard, mainly because you work out at a gym that doesn’t encourage laziness, sloth and in general flabby weakness, Planet Fitness has banned squat racks from their establishments. You can read more on that here: Gym Removes Squat Racks for Being ‘Intimidating’ to Squishy Clients Now, don’t get me wrong, fat or weak people shouldn’t be mocked or humiliated at a gym when they are trying to better themselves but the idea that in order to do so you must undercut other people who wish to improve themselves is ridiculous. I think treadmills are stupid.  Many people get on the hamster wheel and take a leisurely stroll and think they are actually working out.  Do I think treadmills should be banned from gyms?  No, if someone wants to waste their time with it, it’s no skin off my nose.       But if I want...

Chicago politics loses another round to the Constitution

The “Chicago Way” took another hit on the chin as a federal judge has ruled that Chicago’s end around to try and infringe upon its citizens right to keep and bear arms was unconstitutional. Gun Control advocates, never letting a right go unmolested had attempted to ban sales of gun within the city.  The city, mind you, that was the murder capital of the country two years running even though it had a complete ban on private citizens carrying firearms.  A city that in the month of August, with it’s complete ban on carrying a firearm had 52 firearm murders and 224 people being shot.  The city felt the need to further deny the rights of its citizens to defend themselves when the CCW issuance finally went into effect in 2014. By this they hoped to drive sales of legal guns as far outside of Cook County as possible...
