Federal Shocktroopers Nearly Murder Family Who Dared Film Them As They Stole Their Cattle

Here is another example of the need for the 2nd Amendment. The case of Cliven Bundy and his stand against government oppression for the past 20 years may result in a trigger happy fed murdering him in cold blood. The gist of it comes down to the fact that in 1993, the government levied a tax on the land that Bundy’s family has used since the 1880’s in a roundabout attempt to drive him bankrupt and ensure that he could not pass his ranch on to his son. Now they are moving in armed troops to steal Bundy’s cattle. Just like bogus Eminent Domain cases that result in campaign kickbacks and immoral quid quo pro practices, the federal government is trying to disguise their crime by saying this action is to “protect” the desert tortoise. But the local politicians in Nevada aren’t buying it.  Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins...

Gun Control Fanatic Senator Leland Yee Finally Arrested On Corruption Charges

I’ve been saying that Leland Yee was a criminal for years…federal authorities finally paid attention. Yee was arrested by the FBI Wednesday morning for public corruption.  While this isn’t terribly surprising given Lee’s track record of ignoring what was morally and ethically right, what IS slightly surprising is that among the charges being leveled against Yee is GUN TRAFFICKING.  How poetically ironic. Yee doesn’t seem as happy in the back of a FBI Agent’s car as he was when he was persecuting law abiding gun owners in California. This isn’t even your typical white collar politician crime which consists of kickbacks and quid quo pro arrangements.  Yee is being charged with conspiring to traffic in firearms and who is conspiring with?  Yee is now being linked to Chinese Mafioso Raymond “Shrimp Boy” Chow, former soldier in San Francisco’s Hop Sing Tong gang. First convicted in 1978 for robbery in...

You have a license to carry that gun tattoo?

In a story that is just full of fail a man from Maine had his home besieged by SWAT troopers armed with assault rifles because he had a tattoo. In Norridgewock Maine, Michael Smith works nights so when a tree removal crew entered onto HIS property and started making a racket at 10am he was understandably upset.  Smith arose from his bed and went outside to tell the intruders to get off his property and to keep it down.  Coming directly from his comfortable bed Smith didn’t feel inclined to put a shirt on.  It was this inaction that revealed his “dangerous and frightening” tattoo; that of a handgun by his waistband. Smith went back to bed and the tree removal crew called the cops and filed a false report.  The crew said something to the effect that Smith had threatened them with a gun and as a result...

Oklahoma politician proves once again it’s about CONTROL not guns

I first read about this story from Girls Just Wanna Have Guns wherein 40 Sheriffs from around Oklahoma gathered at the state capitol for their annual meet and greet. Somehow, even though the sheriffs meet annually there for a meet and greet, and the state troopers had no qualms with their gathering some state senator got his/her panties in a bunch and complained.  The complainer has remained anonymous but what they were complaining about wasn’t. The State Senator took offense that the sheriffs were armed.  That’s right, this gun hating state senator demanded that the sheriff’s be kicked out because he/she didn’t like the notion that they were legally armed within the lobby of the State Capitol. Once again, this only goes to prove that gun control politicians do not care one lick about anything other than CONTROL.  I mean, these were duly elected law enforcement officials from around the...

More guns, less crime – Cops are finally coming around

While covering CPAC earlier in March one of the highlights was listening in on the panel discussion entitled: “More Guns,Less Crime: How Law Enforcement is Beginning to Embrace a Well-Armed Civilian Populace.”  Obviously having the law abiding citizens of this country armed in order to protect themselves from criminals is a logical certainty.  But it has always seemed that Law Enforcement has rejected the notion. Every time you hear of a pro gun bill there seem to be police organizations spouting off against it, or gun control measures that are so inane only their sponsers and those same police organizations are the only ones who support it. Yet, if you look closely at WHO exactly is doing the anti gun tango it is often times not the rank and file officers but rather those big city police chief organizations that owe their patronage, not to the citizens that one...

Hey Connecticut, 1933 Berlin called, they want their Gestapo back

The powers that be in Connecticut have decided that little things like the Constitution and Rights have no place in the (ironically named) Constitution state. When you have the Connecticut State Police spokesman, Lt. Paul Vance declare that anyone who voices opinions contrary to support of the new gun control law “sounds anti-American” one cannot help but hear shades of the Gestapo looking to root out any perceived opposition to the dictatorship. Here is a quote from Lt. Vance during a phone conversation with a woman whose husband received a letter saying he must turn in or destroy his weapons because the authority didn’t get the paperwork in time: “Ma’am, it sounds like you’re anti-American, it sounds like you’re anti-law.” According to Vance, if you are not lock step in line with the government’s oppression then you are Anti-American. When the caller, Ashley, responds to this notion by saying...

Another case where Gun Registration leads to Gun Confiscation

As a child, I remember watching the movie Red Dawn starring Patrick Swayze and C. Thomas Howell. The thing about that movie that really hit a chord with me was a scene when the Soviets had just landed and the commander told one of his lieutenants to go to the gun shops for they would have a list of all the guns owned by the people, thus making it easier for the Soviets to round them up. Now, while a work of fiction, the concept is sound.  If you make a list of everyone who has a gun, it’s easier for an oppressive authority to confiscate them when they don’t want you to have them. Unfortunately in America, this is not limited to the realm of fiction. I have spoken about he jackbooted thuggery of New Orleans Police when they went out and forcibly confiscated guns from citizens in...

Justice Scalia reaffirms the need for the 2nd Amendment: “In times of war, laws fall silent”

Discussing cases with students at the University of Hawaii’s Law School, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia found himself questioned with the High Court’s ruling back in 1944 that upheld the convictions of Gordon Hirabayashi and Fred Korematsu for failing to voluntarily give up their freedom and report to an internment camp without due process. Scalia’s response to the Court’s decision was this: “Well, of course, Korematsu (court decision) was wrong. And I think we have repudiated in a later case. But you are kidding yourself if you think the same thing will not happen again.”  He then went on to quote Cicero by saying: ” inter arma silent leges” (translation: In times of War, laws fall silent) This tyrannical oppression of Americans of Japanese decent during World War II is not the only time that Justice Scalia has spoken on the dangers of usurping peoples rights under the auspices of national...

“Assault” Weapons a no-no for citizens but “Patrol Rifles” are a go for cops

I guess we are going to start the week off with some gun control hypocrisy…shocker. The Chicago Police department, you know them; the ones who have fought against citizen’s right to keep and bear arms by claiming there will be blood in the streets, all the while having a disarmed populace being able to do nothing about all the blood running in the streets; decided to get all knee deep in hypocrisy doo doo. Well, not only have the dug in their collective heels while innocent men, women and children are being slaughtered thanks to the success of gun control, but now they have added a dollop of hypocrisy to the bloody stew. In response to the following billboard placed in Chicago:   The Chicago police issued a statement saying: “military style weapons belong on the battlefield and not on the street.” I know that little quip is all...

Gov Cuomo endorses actions by retired cop who killed rude movie theater patron

A retired police officer shot two people, one fatally, during a cell phone dispute inside a Florida movie theater yesterday. 71 year old, retired Tampa, FL cop Curtis Reeves asked 43 year old Chad Oulson to stop texting during the movie.  When Chad refused Curtis left to alert staff.  Upon his return Chad asked if Curtis went and told on him at which point an argument broke out. At this point, Curtis took out his sidearm and shot Chad Oulson and his wife Nicole.  Chad would die of his wounds. ————————————————— UPDATE: According to the police report the incident took place during the previews and not the movie itself.  Reeves is attempting to claim self defense as a bag of popcorn was thrown at him.  Witnesses claim no physical contact occurred between the two men (save the popcorn) before Reeves shot and killed Oulson.  The report can be read...

Another innocent man being railroaded by gun control

I guess “innocent” is technically not true but what was not a crime a week ago is one now, as Tyrone Watson found out. The 30 year old Bridgeport man is the first person to be charged in Connecticutt for having a “high capacity magazine”. Or, rather, for having the magazine that came with his handgun known by most rational people as a normal magazine.  But this is what happens when gun controllers get to arbitrarily dictate what is “high capacity” and define what is “normal”. Few pistols now a day hold less than 11 rounds, the noticeable exception being the 1911 and its clones.  But Glocks for instance, favored by law enforcement departments around the country hold 15 rounds standard.  Springfield Armories popular XD line hold 13 rounds for the .45 (also standard) and even more for the smaller caliber rounds.  The Baretta 9mm holds 15 rounds as...

When seconds count police are only HOURS away

Do you remember playing telephone as a child?  A group of you would whisper a message to each other along a line and see if it stayed intact and coherent from the first person to the last.  Well, unfortunately in real life the results aren’t as hilarious if you are waiting for the police to help you. In Dallas, a man who defended his store while being robbed by 4 armed gunmen had to wait 74 minutes for the police to arrive because the 911 operator couldn’t understand what he was saying.  Fortunately for the store manager he had his .38 revolver and was able to drive the attackers off and shooting one. Yet it took so long for the police to arrive the manager decided to go home and wait.  When the police finally showed up they called him to come back and give his report.  I shudder...

NJ Gun Control leads to death of man protecting his wife

Dustin Friedland, 30, was a Hoboken lawyer out shopping for Christmas presents with his wife, 27 year old Jamie.  Upon returning to their Range Rover the couple loaded up their vehicle with their gifts and Dustin, ever the gentlemen and loving husband opened the door for his wife and let her in first. Dustin then moved around the car to get in the driver’s side door. It was at this time he was approached by two men looking to carjack him. With his wife in the car Dustin’s instincts moved to protect her…but he is in New Jersey. A restrictive may-issue state where only those specifically employed in security work or can produce a  “justifiable need” can get a permit to carry a firearm.  As I stated, Dustin was a lawyer from Hoboken; if he were to claim he wanted to carry a firearm in order to protect his...

We shouldn’t accept “Just Following Orders” – Thanks to Sheriffs across the country, we don’t have to

There is something reassuring about Sheriffs that doesn’t extend to other police officers in my mind. Perhaps it is that the Sheriffs are elected and as such cannot be a scourge upon the populace in the way that insulated and crooked cops can be. So often we see crooked cops being brought up on civil rights violations, being found guilty (or the town/city will settle before then), yet the cop goes right back on the beat with little to no accountability for his actions.  In fact, it is the taxpayers who often have to cover the cost of the violations that said crooked cop engages in to begin with.  In that way the taxpayers are paying for their own civil rights being violated. Yet with Sheriffs and their deputies we, as voters and taxpayers, have a direct avenue of recourse if they try and do the same…we vote them...

Cautionary tale gun owners can take from Jameis Winston

In case you aren’t that into sports allow me to rehash the tale of Jameis Winston.  Winston is currently the quarterback for the FSU Seminoles, the #1 college football team in America and the presumptive Heisman Trophy winner. All that might have gone sideways if a recent case of “he said/she said” played out differently. One need look only to North Carolina where convicted murderer Crystal Mangum falsely accused the Duke Lacrosse team of sexual assault.  Without evidence, without corroboration and without anything more than the sensationalized media frenzy exploiting the lie of “privileged white students rape black stripper” 3 Duke students nearly had their lives ruined by a corrupt Prosecutor looking to make a name for himself. Fortunately for Winston he had a few things in his favor.  The prosecutor actually took the time to investigate, he had corroborating witnesses to his innocence and he was black while his...

How will NYS enforce the SAFE Act? With a Rights shredding mindset backed with Military Grade Weaponry

By now it should come as no surprise of the of disdain that the powers that be in New York State have for its citizens.  From the crippling high taxes, to the infringement of rights, to the promotion of a neighbor spying on neighbor program etc. Conversely though, those controllers in Albany seem shocked that people would finally have enough and say “NO” to continually bending over to the whims of those in power who disregard with “outdated” documents like the Bill of Rights or “silly” notions like Liberty. What is Albany to do when the citizens it has tried so hard to make into servants finally say enough is enough? Like all good totalitarian regimes, the one in Albany gets overwhelming firepower to suppress the masses. In New York, that comes in the form of 18 ton, armor-protected, military fighting vehicles with gun turrets and bulletproof glass that...

Private Gun Sales Are The Lynchpin of Liberty

There has been much talk from gun controllers about “common sense” gun control measures such as closing the so called gun show loophole and outlawing private sales of firearms between two people. Or the meltdown gun controllers are having over the private sale of firearms via instagram. You can read that story at Girls Just Wanna Have Guns. There are some usually level headed people who are buying into the controllers bunk and ask me what my problem is with the government checking in on the transactions of private citizens. My answer is quite easy to digest.  The government cannot be allowed to know, track and record every firearm transaction made.  The sake of our liberty demands that the government have a blind spot. The alternative is that they know the quantity, quality and model of every firearm that every law abiding citizen possesses.  The government doesn’t need to...

Gun Owner’s Property Stolen By Police Returned After Federal Lawsuit Settled

In a case rife with police corruption and officers acting with vindictive immorality, the city of Cleveland faced losing BIG in a 5th Amendment case brought by Derrick Washington who had his property stolen by police. The case stemmed back to an incident in the morning of February 10th, 2013.  Washington called the police at 2:09 in the morning to report a shooting in the 2800 block of East 116th Street.  When officers arrived on scene Washington informed them that he had a valid concealed carry permit and that his firearm was in his car. In lieu of doing any real police work that might involve looking for the actual shooter, the police officers involved at this point decided to arrest Washington.  The report they filed reported that he told them that he had been drinking.  Washington was arrested and charged with using weapons while intoxicated and illegally carrying a concealed...
