Gun Owner’s Property Stolen By Police Returned After Federal Lawsuit Settled

In a case rife with police corruption and officers acting with vindictive immorality, the city of Cleveland faced losing BIG in a 5th Amendment case brought by Derrick Washington who had his property stolen by police. The case stemmed back to an incident in the morning of February 10th, 2013.  Washington called the police at 2:09 in the morning to report a shooting in the 2800 block of East 116th Street.  When officers arrived on scene Washington informed them that he had a valid concealed carry permit and that his firearm was in his car. In lieu of doing any real police work that might involve looking for the actual shooter, the police officers involved at this point decided to arrest Washington.  The report they filed reported that he told them that he had been drinking.  Washington was arrested and charged with using weapons while intoxicated and illegally carrying a concealed...

Hey Virginians, you reap what you vote

In the recent gubernatorial election in Virginia, Virginians went to the polls and elected vocal and non apologetic gun hater, Terry McAuliffe.  McAuliffe actually campaigned vocally for gun control in the old dominion and won. Now Virginians will have to live with that for the next four years. As if I couldn’t have predicted what that entails, here is the first taste; McAuliffe names Lori Haas to his transition team. Who is Lori Haas?  She is the Organizer for the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence.  One of the most rabid gun control organizations in America.  A gun control organization so out of the mainstream that President Obama doesn’t even include them in the weekly White House meetings he has. Officials from the White House Office of Public Engagement, which reports to senior Obama aide Valerie Jarrett, are now carrying the administration’s gun control efforts. OPE officials hold a regular...

The most comprehensive summation of the 5 years of Obama’s reign

Mychal Massie is a reporter and talk show host from Los Angeles.  He wrote a biting and pretty comprehensive summation on why he dislikes the Obama’s.  Massie also happens to be black.  Why do I bring that up?  For the “tolerant” left who assume that everyone who disagrees with Obama must be a racist.  No doubt they view Massie, and other black conservatives who hate what Obama is doing to this country, with disdain but at least it will undercut the bogus racism card they like to pull out everytime someone makes a valid point of criticism. With that, I give you, in its entirety Mychal Massie’s response to “Why he doesn’t like the Obama’s”: The other evening on my twitter, a person asked me why I didn’t like the Obama’s? Specifically I was asked: “I have to ask, why do you hate the Obama’s? It seems personal, not...

Gettysburg revisited

Seven score and ten years ago, Abraham Lincoln went to the site of a battlefield in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.  After a two hour oratory Edward Everett, Lincoln took the stage and gave a two minute speech that has gone down as one of the greatest in American History.  Brief and to the point, Lincoln hearkened back to what this country was founded on.  I believe that 150 years later it is a lesson that we must rehear.  Nearly everyone knows how the Gettysburg Address starts but it is what follows that should be remembered. Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are...

When Shooting at a Minivan Full of Kids is Justified

I heard this story out of New Mexico where some cops are in hot water over shooting at a minivan with 5 children in it. At first, I thought this was going to be one of those situations where under-trained cops got trigger happy and recklessly put innocent lives in danger much like the New York City cops that shot up the street near the Empire State Building killing their target in a hail of ill aimed bullets that struck NINE innocent bystanders. Or some thug cop who felt that they needed to put someone in their place by shooting them like the Houston Texas cop who shot a double amputee at a care home who had waved a pen at him menacingly. I mention these to show that I am no thin blue line cheerleader and am willing to cast some light on those who would try to...

The 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with hunting…but that’s ok.

Since in many places this is the first day of hunting season I thought I would reflect on it a little. As I have mentioned before, the 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with hunting.  The idea that the Founding Fathers would have thought it so vital and necessary to protect hunting, would be akin to them protecting the right to dig a well, or ride a horse or sew your own clothes.  It was just one of those things that was absolutely understood and as such (at the time) didn’t need to be singled out for protection, lest the Bill of Rights be thousands of pages long covering every possible aspect of a persons life right down to the right to have a beard. Now, personally, I don’t hunt.  Just never got into it.  There’s nothing wrong with hunting and I wish my father, brother and cousin luck...

Life on Mars – A lesson on Liberty from a desolate wasteland

NASA’s research into our nearest neighbor has revealed that many millions of years ago Mars was a lush, wet planet with a thick atmosphere.  Yet today, all that remains is the barren and desolate wasteland with only a toehold of moisture to be found in ice at the poles and in small pockets of ice elsewhere. Why is a pro liberty, gun rights website talking about Mars? Because Mars is a parable, an allegory, a metaphor for what can happen to American liberty. You see, if there was life on Mars millions of years ago, chances are they saw their lush planet with flowing water and forested hills as inviolate from its desolate future.  Yet, if the leading theory is to be believed, a powerful solar wind knocked out the magnetic field of Mars.  That magnetic field was the barrier and protector of the Martian atmosphere and as such...

Is there anything the government can run better than the private sector…besides abject failure?

With the nigh unbelievable power grab the Federal Government is blundering their way through with regards to Obamacare and the dangers to liberty that the notion of forcing people to buy something simply for being alive entail, you would think SOMEONE would have figured out a better way. I’m not going to say that someone is me, but I did take a little looky loo around and have discovered plenty of ways to improve healthcare in America without gutting individual freedom and enacting a bloated bureacratic nightmare that allows the federal government metaphorically give you a colonoscopy. The following ideas are so simple that it boggles the mind that ELEVEN THOUSAND pages of regulations were needed for Obamacare. Here are five simple solutions to improve health care in America that would only require Americans to bend over for their proctologist: Insurance without borders.  Currently we have pigeon holed insurance companies...

Barack Obama’s Gun Control Record Revealed

Somehow, there are people who confess they are gun owners, who keep saying that Barack Obama is no threat to the Second Amendment.  They actually go so far as to say that he has strengthened the Second Amendment during his first term. Short post today, first, as I have discussed before, he HAD to accept the Amendment to the Credit Card Reform bill that allowed carrying of firearms in National Parks.  He had the chance to allow guns in parks on its own and he refused.  That means HE WAS AGAINST THE BILL. Then there are his Supreme Court Judges, specifically Sotomayor who lied to congress about her belief in the Second Amendment only to rule against its definition of an individual right the first time it came up. Now, lets look at a quick rundown of where the President really stands on the issues: Renews support for gun control through...

NYS goes full on Nazi; SAFE act to encourage people to inform on neighbors if they have too many bullets

Fuhrer Cuomo has goosestepped his way even further down the path that leads to a freedom-less tyrannical autocracy. Apparently Cuomo fashions himself as a modern day Hitler. Yeah…how’s that for some bombastic opening sentences. Calling someone Hitler or a Nazi has long been a pastime of liberals who find themselves unable to cognitively refute a person with a different ideology. They toss it around so much that it has become cliche.  I’m not doing that.  Rather, I am pointing out how the methods of the Third Reich are being implemented as we speak in the Empire State under the watch of one Andrew Cuomo. Changing the rules in order to ram the SAFE Act down the throats of New Yorkers before they had time to voice dissent is one thing. Enacting a program where, in order to enforce the SAFE Act, you are encouraging neighbors to inform on neighbors...

Death of the Fourth Amendment means danger to the Second

You will often hear me voice my disdain for violations of the Fourth Amendment, freedom from unreasonable search and seizures, as I believe that it is second only to the Second Amendment with regards to importance rights enumerated by the Constitution.  While the other rights are important, the 4th is supposed to protect us from warrantless midnight raids of secret police and from our person being molested by thugs on fishing trips hiding behind badges. In a pair of disturbing violations of the Fourth Amendment, we can see the groundwork being laid to erase the Fourth from the law books and in doing so attack the 2nd Amendment directly. The first case involved scrap metal worker David Eckert who found himself in the wrong part of town in Deming, NM and as a result was repeatedly and forcibly raped over a twelve hour period by doctors who were being ordered...

Good news for the Gonazaga Seniors who defended themselves against home invader: No expulsion

As you may have read earlier here, a pair of Gonzaga seniors were facing expulsion after they used a firearm to repel a home invader who was a 6 time convicted felon. You can read the about the details here:  Gonzaga moves to expel students who stopped felon from murdering them – despite living off campus Good news has finally come to Fagan and McIntosh as the school has decided (no doubt from the onslaught of bad press they were receiving) not to expel them. Though the pair did not get off Scot free either. The duo will be allowed to finish their final year at Gonzaga under probation. Nor did Gonzaga get away unscathed in their asinine ruling in the matter.  Namely what Fagan and McIntosh were actually found in violation of the following policies: possessing weapons on school grounds (questionable since the building was off campus and...

It is the veteran…

It is the VETERAN, not the preacher, who has given us freedom of religion. It is the VETERAN, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the VETERAN, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble. It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the VETERAN, not the politician, Who has given us the right to vote.  It is the VETERAN, who salutes the Flag, who serves under the Flag,  whose coffin is draped by the Flag. And for those who have passed; eternal rest grant them O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.  Veterans know that the oath of allegiance has no expiration date. Despite what messes politicians make that erode our liberty,...

Gonzaga moves to expel students who stopped felon from murdering them – despite living off campus

From Patriot News Update: Two Gonzaga students are facing possible expulsion from the University after they pulled a weapon in self defense as a six time felon attempted to get into their on campus apartment. According to the student handbook, students may not possess handguns on campus or university owned property. On Friday a university discipline board decided to move forward with sanctions, including possible expulsion, for using the weapons. Read more at http://patriotoutdoornews.com/8065/gonzaga-students-face-possible-expulsion-pulling-gun-home-intruder#jkI6kdZg2vXVKkZ3.99 Let me first say that the two students, Erik Fagan and Dan McIntosh, in my mind did everything right. The University on the other hand is really crapping the bed on this matter. And you may be surprised to know that the reason I believe so isn’t for the reason you may think. An anti gun, private University has the right to ban guns from their campus and their property.  It’s an idiotic and dangerous...

Technology has arrived that completely undercuts the pretense of Gun Control

Gun Control advocates have long contended that gun control’s main objective is to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. Of course, we know that as a lie because the notion that a criminal will follow gun control laws is woefully naive at best.  The only people who follow gun control laws are the law abiding and it is they who suffer their rights being infringed. But the technology has finally arrived that blasts the Gun Controllers cover story to pieces. You may have heard of 3D printed guns.  Originally they were guns made of plastic created on a 3D printer where all you need is a program and some plastic.  Known  as the Liberator this plastic gun was as ugly as it was ineffective. While it would shoot, its longevity was closer to a one-off than a reliable long lasting firearm.  Yet even with the liberator, the...

A man’s home is his castle, except in Maryland. Man shoots intruder at 2am, gets charged with murder

US Air Force Tech Sgt. Matt Pinkerton shot an intruder in his home on September 13th just before 2am. That is not in question. Yet somehow, in Maryland, where Castle Doctrine does not exist by statute but rather only by case law, Sgt. Pinkerton is being charged with 2nd degree murder. The intruder, Kendall Green, had reportedly been harassing Matt’s wife, Jessica.  Green had been a friend who helped Jessica when her brother was in a coma after being involved in a accident while Matt was overseas. All evidence points to Jessica only maintaining a friendship with Green yet when he pushed for more she ended the friendship completely. Jessica has stated: Green had texted me sometime in July or August saying that he missed the kids, and Matt didn’t deserve us and that he deserved a chance. He wanted more.” Which brings us to an early Sunday morning...

The hypocrisy of gun controllers and the fallout

I just read an interesting article where political activist Adam Kokesh pled guilty to possessing a gun in DC. Adam Kokesh, the political activist who posted a video of himself pumping a shotgun near the White House, has pleaded guilty to weapons and drug charges. The 31-year-old Kokesh admitted in a D.C. Superior Court on Wednesday to charges of carrying a shotgun, possession of an unregistered firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition. He also pleaded guilty to a separate charge of possession of marijuana. U.S. Attorney Ronald Machen Jr. applauded the conviction, pointing out that law enforcement officers put their lives on the line to protect national government facilities, landmarks and public servants working in the city. “Their jobs are hard enough without irresponsible people intentionally coming into the District of Columbia to brandish a loaded shotgun in the heart of the nation’s capital,” Machen said in a release....

Did you (the Dolphins) order the code red?

With the unfolding story with the Miami Dophins, yet another aspect has been brought to light.  Namely of the coaching staff telling Richie Incognito to “toughen up” Jonathon Martin. The Sun Sentinel, citing at least two sources, reported Tuesday that Dolphins coaches asked Incognito to toughen Martin up this spring, after Martin missed a voluntary team workout. The entire situation has now abruptly been turned into a rehash of “A Few Good Men” starring Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise. In the movie, a solider named Santiago wasn’t up to snuff and was hurting the unit by being weak, both physically and mentally.  As a result, Col. Nathan Jessup ordered a “code red”, basically ordering 2 marines to rough Santiago up in hopes of toughening him up to become  a productive member of the unit. Long story short, Santiago had an unknown medical condition that inadvertently killed him during the...
