It is a dangerous precedent when one person need only point a finger at another person and cry “WITCH” and that person gets burned at the stake, drowned, or pressed to death.  Yet that is exactly the situation being fostered in California now that a new gun control measure has been put in place where a person’s property can be stolen by the police and they are considered guilty just because a relative points to them and cries out “gun owner.” The new law (AB-1014) allows families to petition a court for the seizure of guns from a family member, and then empowers police to confiscate firearms from that family member. In 1986 a gun control bill ludicrously dubbed the Firearm Owners Protection Act passed through congress.  It had a wide ranging number of gun control measures but the most prevalent one is that it banned the manufacture and sale of machine guns built after 1986. All automatic machine guns built prior to that year were still allowed to be transferred after paying an extortion transfer fee and special stamp tax.  Side note, didn’t we fight a revolution back in 1776 against stamp taxes?  (yes, stamp, same tyranny).  The number of legal machine guns with proper paperwork in the US stands at around 196,000 weapons. In Lower Township, NJ, 32 year old Russell Percenti was arrested after shooting down his neighbors drone that was flying over his property taking photos. It is bad enough that we have to suffer the Constitution shredding loss of privacy at the hands of the government, but now actively protecting high tech voyeurism when it trespasses on our very own property (500 feet above one’s property is acknowledged as that persons private air space) is a bitter pill indeed.  Not surprising such a miscarriage of justice is taking place in New Jersey. On the heels of the Army looking to replace the 9mm Beretta pistol as its standard sidearm, the FBI’s Training Division released a “new study” in May that was recently leaked to the public.  The Study claims that the 9mm Luger pistol is the best option for law enforcement.  Suggesting that departments shouldn’t switch their sidearms to larger rounds. The FBI Study shows there are a number of reasons for their conclusion.  But their rationale is laughable. On Wednesday, the highest Criminal Court in Texas, tossed out part of a law that sought to criminalize the improper photographing of video recording of images commonly referred to as “upskirting” or “downblousing”.  Basically taking a photo up a woman’s skirt or down her shirt.  First of all, I’m shocked that crawling under a woman and sticking a camera between her legs and taking a snapshot ISN’T a crime everywhere.
