It’s getting bad when people are wishing Obama acted more like Nixon

While Nixon was a flawed man, haunted by notions of people out to “get him” I don’t think he was anything more nefarious than most politicians.  He had two big hurdles that he couldn’t get over though.  First, he got caught in a coverup and secondly, and more damning is that he was a Republican. The liberal media loves to crucify Republicans when they do something that politicians on both sides of the isles do. Case in point, Nixon’s downfall came because he spied on his competition and then covered it up. Obama spies on EVERYONE, has the IRS attack and attempt to destroy his critics, his cover-ups extend beyond that to include trying to whitewash debacles like Benghazi, Fast and Furious and the deaths of American border agents under the table. If Nixon had done any of these things the liberal press would have called for him to...

Tony Stewart Recklessly Kills a Man, Time to Ban All Cars

The title of this article is steeped with sarcasm.  But it is used to illustrate the absurdity that gun controllers like to levy upon guns by applying it elsewhere.  In case you haven’t heard, this past Saturday night in Canandaigua, NY, professional racecar driver, Tony Stewart, ran over and killed a fellow driver who got out of his vehicle and tried to confront Stewart while the race was still on. First and foremost, dumb idea.  Even under a caution flag, these cars were whizzing around the dirt track at speeds of 55+ mph.  And while my sympathies go out to the family of Kevin Ward Jr. willingly placing yourself in harms way in order to pick a fight is not really the safest thing to do. With that being said, as you can see in the following video, it is unclear whether Stewart actually swerved INTO Ward as he...

Surprise, Anti-Gun Banks Rate Worst in Nation

Bank of America…Wells Fargo…JP Morgan Chase…Citibank. What do these four banks have in common?  Besides being “too big to fail” they also are too arrogant to actually give a damn about their customers. According  to MagnifyMoney, which analyzed complaints made to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB),these banks are the top offenders in…well…offending their clientele.  From predatory lending to misleading fine print and outright theft due to improper foreclosures, these banks have time and again gulled, cullied and diddled the American people out of billions of dollars. Yet, not only do these four banks rate as the most complained about financial institutions in the country but they also all have policies in place to punish, deny and/or harrass American’s who DARE to exercise their 2nd Amendment rights.  I don’t mean that these banks simply hide under the naive cloak of gun free zones in their establishments.  No, these banks have...

Gun Grabber Heads Implode as DC Ban Ruled Unconstitutional – All law abiding can now carry

Shockingly over the weekend a Judge ruled that “the right to keep and bear arms” ACTUALLY included bearing arms. In Palmer v District of Columbia, Federal Judge Frederick Scullin Jr. ruled that the Second Amendment existed OUTSIDE a person’s home.  With a decision so obvious I do wonder why it took 5 years to issue this decision.   Perhaps the five year wait had to do with Judge Scullin delving DEEPLY into both Heller v DC and MacDonald v Chicago to issue this resounding and total conclusion:  “there is no longer any basis on which this court can conclude that the District of Columbia’s total ban on the public carrying of ready-to-use handguns outside the home is constitutional under any level of scrutiny.” That wording is important.  According to the correct ruling of Judge Scullin, the right to bear arms is just as paramount as the right to keep them....

The War On Women Hunters

As if guns and hunting weren’t bad enough for rabid liberal zealots, they could at least wrap themselves in the false notion that both were the past times of old white guys.  But whenever you ruffle the cocoon of idiocy that progressives like to hide in be ready for the most hate filled, irrational vitriol you can imagine.  Progressives can spew that stuff as easy as breathing. As many have reported, a cheerleader from Texas has been demonized and threatened because she went on safari and bagged some big game.  Kendall Jones has had to face the full force of “liberal acceptance” by having death threats sent to her and having liberal scumbag and congressional candidate Mike Dickinson offer her ex boyfriends $100K for nude photos of her. Looks like the “War on Women” comes from the left.  Because if you, as a women, don’t walk lockstep with the...

Bloomberg with another “Let them eat cake” moment

Disgraced Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has long viewed himself as a “better than you” elite who must dictate how others must live since we, the peons, cannot do so for ourselves. Once again Bloomberg is unapologetic about his disdain that he has for anyone who dares stand up and challenge his tyrannical and dictatorial ambitions. The case in point of which I refer to most recently is in an interview that Bloomberg gave to Rolling Stones Magazine.  In it Bloomberg discussed who was to blame when the people of Colorado, after being railroaded with a number of rights’ infringing gun control laws, rose up and tossed a few of the offending politicians from office. In Bloomberg’s mind it wasn’t a motivated group of patriots, a collection of oppressed people who have had enough, a grass roots movement of Constitution powered populism.  No, since Bloomberg was defeated...

Jackbooted thug with badge kills another unarmed member of an innocent family

If you are like me you consider your dog part of the family.  It seems more and more that certain police officers view them as target practice. In Salt Lake City, hundreds of people have protested in from of the SLPD against the summary execution of lovable Geist the Weimaraner. You might be saying to yourself that perhaps we here at Bullets First are getting too soft hearted and cannot accept that a dog had to be shot.  That’s not the case here.  Geist wasn’t a roving dog attacking children, not a trained fighter who would snap at anyone, not a rabid monster. No, Geist was a lovable family pet whose only “crime” was being in his fenced in and locked yard. It was there in his fenced in backyard that the gray Weimaraner was was shot dead by a police officer who was searching for a missing boy. Police...

Missouri School Districts Taking Security Seriously

…by giving their teachers guns in order to protect their students. Unlike the ludicrous notion that a “gun free zone” sign produces some mystical force field that keeps gun toting maniacs off school grounds, four school districts in West Plains Missouri are taking PRACTICAL steps in order to ensure the safety of both students and faculty. These school districts recently sent staffers to the hilltop range of West Plains for five days of firearms training. The instructors, all current law enforcement officers, train teachers to deal with their most likely scenario; essentially close-quarters combat while youngsters scream and run about. On the instructors command the teachers take action, they make an evasive sidestep “stepping off the X,” it’s called. They pull the Glock 19s from their holsters and fire at metal targets 50 inches tall with painted faces at the tops, careful not to hit the innocents in front and...

Intelligent Life Found In New York?

Since I will be keeping a close eye on the upcoming New York gubernatorial election, as gun control and gun rights will be at its center thanks to Cuomo’s tyrannical and asininely named SAFE Act, I take an opportunity to read the local periodicals when I get the chance. It was in doing so that I was pleasantly surprised the the liberal rag The Schenectady Gazette had the courage to actually print a letter to the editor from a person I can only imagine is a reader of mine.  Because Don Steciak of Schenectady pretty much wrote a piece that might as well come from my own hand. Take a look at some of the good old fashioned common sense that seems to still exist in pockets of New York: Gun Control not right solution to random shootings On May 23, another nut case went on a rampage, in...

Guns are like Motorcycle Helmets…helpful tools when needed

It’s a funny thing when you think about it, but I have had to use my personal firearm more times to protect myself than I had my motorcycle helmet with a score of 1 to nothing. Well, that changed today.  While taking an early morning ride a car in front of me stopped short and I applied my brakes a bit too heavily and hit some broken pavement and went sliding across the street.  Was I badly injured?  No.  Though the road rash on my arm and leg are not pretty to look at. Fortunately, though it is not required in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, I was wearing my DOT Approved Motorcycle Helmet.  Because I had the TOOLS available to me my scalp did not suffer the same fate as my arm and knee. The TOOL did it’s job and I remained safe. I’m sure some of my long...

Only in California: 300K voters cast ballot for indicted gun control/gun trafficking hypocrite

Somehow, this story doesn’t surprise me. In case you missed it, disgraced former State Senator and champion gun control advocate Leland Yee of San Francisco has been indicted on charges ranging from racketeering to GUN TRAFFICKING. Yet even so: 287,590 voters STILL cast their ballot for the nefarious hypocrite Leland Yee for Secretary of State.. Seriously California?  What does it take for some of you to take your head out of your collective 4th point of contact? Let’s run this down. You like gun control?  Ok. Leland Yee believes in gun control as much as Hitler believes in not using gas chambers.  In that, they both don’t want it applied to them. Not only is Yee above the notion of being personally limited by the legislation that he has proposed over the years but he also is THE EXACT REASON that bad guys have guns including terrorist. To be...

Obama, a walking cluster@#(k as commander in chief

As I was talking with a friend last night he asked if Obama could be playing so stupid as to be brilliant. I assured him it was no act.  The man is just a craven cowardly America hating, soldier resenting socialist with dreams to diminish the American spirit to the point that we forgo our entrepreneurial spirit and become beholden to the government for all our needs. In case you haven’t noticed…I’m a little peeved with his highness, King Barack. As a former soldier, the recent stories that have been making the headlines recently have resonated with me in both their absurdity and the disgraceful manner in which the Commander in Chief has reacted to both. On one hand you have Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi whose only true crime was getting lost in the desert and being found by Mexicans.  Despite what the Sanctuary City crowd would have you...

Blaming Guns for Spree Killings is like Blaming Short Skirts for Rape

Once again a mentally disturbed affluent liberal goes on a killing spree because he isn’t getting laid and OF COURSE the focus is on banning guns from the law abiding. I’m speaking specifically of the recent California spree killing perpetrated by Elliot Rodger.  While some repeatedly call this a mass shooting gun grabbers seem to overlook the fact that Elliot Rodger killed his first three victims with a knife.  He also ran over more victims in his high priced BMW. If he hadn’t killed himself when FINALLY faced with someone with a gun; I wonder if Rodgers, son of Hollywood Producer, Director and Cinematographer Peter Rodgers, would have pled not guilty by reason of affluenza for his actions…but that is a whole other ball of BS that I’m not going to get into now. No, the real issue is that some people, namely the mouth drooling anti gun troglodytes,...

Let’s Not Forget What Memorial Day Is Really About

I like a three day weekend as much as the next guy.  I enjoy picnics and baseball, hot dogs and hamburgers and all the other trappings of Memorial Day weekend. But in our leisure, let us never forget what Memorial Day actual is. It is a day set aside, for us to remember that good men and women laid down their lives for us to enjoy our way of life.  They answered the call their country sent out and gave fully of themselves in their duty.  They have not gone forth as conquerors but as liberators. As Colin Powell so eloquently put it in 2003: “We have gone forth from our shores repeatedly over the last hundred years and we’ve done this as recently as the last year in Afghanistan and put wonderful young men and women at risk, many of whom have lost their lives, and we have...

Chipolte take note: “Gun Free” Restaurant Robbed at Gunpoint

As you may have heard Chipolte has revised its gun policy. The restaurant chain is now banning guns within their stores and creating criminal empowerment zones.  In a statement released by the company they state: “Because the display of firearms in our restaurants has now created an environment that is potentially intimidating or uncomfortable for many of our customers, we think it is time to make this request.” Interesting, because a couple of anti gun rabble rousers go to social media and click a “like” button, Chipolte decides that they will make a company policy disarming all the law abiding people that would patron their restaurants. For those who will continue to eat at Chipolte, I wonder how intimidating and uncomfortable it will be for them when actual bad guys with guns come busting in the place with the freedom and foreknowledge that they can get in, rob and...

Has Ohio Been A Constitutional Carry State All Along?

As I was looking into my travels this Memorial Day weekend I took a minute to have a refresher course on what the gun laws are in the states that I will be travelling to.  I am planning on heading to Cincinnati Ohio to root on my Alma Mater’s, the University of Pittsburgh’s, Ultimate Frisbee Team En Sabah Nur. Yes…your champion of gun rights and all things 2nd Amendment himself was a big time Ultimate Frisbee player.  With ESN, a team on which I was a founding member, I was a 4-time National Qualifier after an injury left him unable to continue playing football at Pitt…but I digress :o) Anyways, while I know Open Carry is legal in the Buckeye state (fortunate for me since Ohio and Pennsylvania do not have CCW reciprocity) I wanted to delve into the motor vehicle aspect of firearm transportation.  From what I heard...

Here’s what Valor and Honor Look like

Cpl Kyle Carpenter only had a split second to make a choice.  He could either think only of himself and flee from a dangerous situation or literally jump headlong into danger in order to protect his fellow Marine. Cpl Carpenter chose the latter. On November 21st of 2010, Carpenter and his squad were securing Patrol Base Dakota against the Taliban in  the southern part of Afghanistan.  It was in this push to secure a stronger presence in the volatile region where he and fellow Marine, LCpl  Nicholas Eufrazio, found themselves on a rooftop in an overwatch position.  Around 10am insurgents pressed an attack and started throwing grenades, one of which landed in the middle of Carpenter and Eufrazio’s rooftop nest. It was in that split moment that Carpenter leapt into action and “distinguished himself conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of...

Supreme Court’s Inaction Fails Gun Owners Again

Once again the faith that some gun owners hold in the US Supreme Court to do the right thing in regards to the 2nd Amendment was proven baseless. Last week the Supreme Court decided NOT to rule on the ever expansive infringements on the right to keep AND bear arms in the state of New Jersey.  But refusing to hear the case, the Supreme Court has allowed to stand a ruling by the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals that states the right to bear arms outside of the home can be limited to the whims and discretion of an issuing authority. Basically, if the issuing authority in May-Issue states within the jurisdiction of the 3rd Circuit don’t want to give you a license to carry a firearm they have NO obligation to do so.  All they have to do is claim you don’t deserve one. How this ruling in...
