Hey Virginians, you reap what you vote

In the recent gubernatorial election in Virginia, Virginians went to the polls and elected vocal and non apologetic gun hater, Terry McAuliffe.  McAuliffe actually campaigned vocally for gun control in the old dominion and won. Now Virginians will have to live with that for the next four years. As if I couldn’t have predicted what that entails, here is the first taste; McAuliffe names Lori Haas to his transition team. Who is Lori Haas?  She is the Organizer for the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence.  One of the most rabid gun control organizations in America.  A gun control organization so out of the mainstream that President Obama doesn’t even include them in the weekly White House meetings he has. Officials from the White House Office of Public Engagement, which reports to senior Obama aide Valerie Jarrett, are now carrying the administration’s gun control efforts. OPE officials hold a regular...

The most comprehensive summation of the 5 years of Obama’s reign

Mychal Massie is a reporter and talk show host from Los Angeles.  He wrote a biting and pretty comprehensive summation on why he dislikes the Obama’s.  Massie also happens to be black.  Why do I bring that up?  For the “tolerant” left who assume that everyone who disagrees with Obama must be a racist.  No doubt they view Massie, and other black conservatives who hate what Obama is doing to this country, with disdain but at least it will undercut the bogus racism card they like to pull out everytime someone makes a valid point of criticism. With that, I give you, in its entirety Mychal Massie’s response to “Why he doesn’t like the Obama’s”: The other evening on my twitter, a person asked me why I didn’t like the Obama’s? Specifically I was asked: “I have to ask, why do you hate the Obama’s? It seems personal, not...

Gettysburg revisited

Seven score and ten years ago, Abraham Lincoln went to the site of a battlefield in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.  After a two hour oratory Edward Everett, Lincoln took the stage and gave a two minute speech that has gone down as one of the greatest in American History.  Brief and to the point, Lincoln hearkened back to what this country was founded on.  I believe that 150 years later it is a lesson that we must rehear.  Nearly everyone knows how the Gettysburg Address starts but it is what follows that should be remembered. Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are...

When Shooting at a Minivan Full of Kids is Justified

I heard this story out of New Mexico where some cops are in hot water over shooting at a minivan with 5 children in it. At first, I thought this was going to be one of those situations where under-trained cops got trigger happy and recklessly put innocent lives in danger much like the New York City cops that shot up the street near the Empire State Building killing their target in a hail of ill aimed bullets that struck NINE innocent bystanders. Or some thug cop who felt that they needed to put someone in their place by shooting them like the Houston Texas cop who shot a double amputee at a care home who had waved a pen at him menacingly. I mention these to show that I am no thin blue line cheerleader and am willing to cast some light on those who would try to...

The 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with hunting…but that’s ok.

Since in many places this is the first day of hunting season I thought I would reflect on it a little. As I have mentioned before, the 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with hunting.  The idea that the Founding Fathers would have thought it so vital and necessary to protect hunting, would be akin to them protecting the right to dig a well, or ride a horse or sew your own clothes.  It was just one of those things that was absolutely understood and as such (at the time) didn’t need to be singled out for protection, lest the Bill of Rights be thousands of pages long covering every possible aspect of a persons life right down to the right to have a beard. Now, personally, I don’t hunt.  Just never got into it.  There’s nothing wrong with hunting and I wish my father, brother and cousin luck...

Life on Mars – A lesson on Liberty from a desolate wasteland

NASA’s research into our nearest neighbor has revealed that many millions of years ago Mars was a lush, wet planet with a thick atmosphere.  Yet today, all that remains is the barren and desolate wasteland with only a toehold of moisture to be found in ice at the poles and in small pockets of ice elsewhere. Why is a pro liberty, gun rights website talking about Mars? Because Mars is a parable, an allegory, a metaphor for what can happen to American liberty. You see, if there was life on Mars millions of years ago, chances are they saw their lush planet with flowing water and forested hills as inviolate from its desolate future.  Yet, if the leading theory is to be believed, a powerful solar wind knocked out the magnetic field of Mars.  That magnetic field was the barrier and protector of the Martian atmosphere and as such...

NYS goes full on Nazi; SAFE act to encourage people to inform on neighbors if they have too many bullets

Fuhrer Cuomo has goosestepped his way even further down the path that leads to a freedom-less tyrannical autocracy. Apparently Cuomo fashions himself as a modern day Hitler. Yeah…how’s that for some bombastic opening sentences. Calling someone Hitler or a Nazi has long been a pastime of liberals who find themselves unable to cognitively refute a person with a different ideology. They toss it around so much that it has become cliche.  I’m not doing that.  Rather, I am pointing out how the methods of the Third Reich are being implemented as we speak in the Empire State under the watch of one Andrew Cuomo. Changing the rules in order to ram the SAFE Act down the throats of New Yorkers before they had time to voice dissent is one thing. Enacting a program where, in order to enforce the SAFE Act, you are encouraging neighbors to inform on neighbors...

Death of the Fourth Amendment means danger to the Second

You will often hear me voice my disdain for violations of the Fourth Amendment, freedom from unreasonable search and seizures, as I believe that it is second only to the Second Amendment with regards to importance rights enumerated by the Constitution.  While the other rights are important, the 4th is supposed to protect us from warrantless midnight raids of secret police and from our person being molested by thugs on fishing trips hiding behind badges. In a pair of disturbing violations of the Fourth Amendment, we can see the groundwork being laid to erase the Fourth from the law books and in doing so attack the 2nd Amendment directly. The first case involved scrap metal worker David Eckert who found himself in the wrong part of town in Deming, NM and as a result was repeatedly and forcibly raped over a twelve hour period by doctors who were being ordered...

Gonzaga moves to expel students who stopped felon from murdering them – despite living off campus

From Patriot News Update: Two Gonzaga students are facing possible expulsion from the University after they pulled a weapon in self defense as a six time felon attempted to get into their on campus apartment. According to the student handbook, students may not possess handguns on campus or university owned property. On Friday a university discipline board decided to move forward with sanctions, including possible expulsion, for using the weapons. Read more at http://patriotoutdoornews.com/8065/gonzaga-students-face-possible-expulsion-pulling-gun-home-intruder#jkI6kdZg2vXVKkZ3.99 Let me first say that the two students, Erik Fagan and Dan McIntosh, in my mind did everything right. The University on the other hand is really crapping the bed on this matter. And you may be surprised to know that the reason I believe so isn’t for the reason you may think. An anti gun, private University has the right to ban guns from their campus and their property.  It’s an idiotic and dangerous...

A man’s home is his castle, except in Maryland. Man shoots intruder at 2am, gets charged with murder

US Air Force Tech Sgt. Matt Pinkerton shot an intruder in his home on September 13th just before 2am. That is not in question. Yet somehow, in Maryland, where Castle Doctrine does not exist by statute but rather only by case law, Sgt. Pinkerton is being charged with 2nd degree murder. The intruder, Kendall Green, had reportedly been harassing Matt’s wife, Jessica.  Green had been a friend who helped Jessica when her brother was in a coma after being involved in a accident while Matt was overseas. All evidence points to Jessica only maintaining a friendship with Green yet when he pushed for more she ended the friendship completely. Jessica has stated: Green had texted me sometime in July or August saying that he missed the kids, and Matt didn’t deserve us and that he deserved a chance. He wanted more.” Which brings us to an early Sunday morning...

The hypocrisy of gun controllers and the fallout

I just read an interesting article where political activist Adam Kokesh pled guilty to possessing a gun in DC. Adam Kokesh, the political activist who posted a video of himself pumping a shotgun near the White House, has pleaded guilty to weapons and drug charges. The 31-year-old Kokesh admitted in a D.C. Superior Court on Wednesday to charges of carrying a shotgun, possession of an unregistered firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition. He also pleaded guilty to a separate charge of possession of marijuana. U.S. Attorney Ronald Machen Jr. applauded the conviction, pointing out that law enforcement officers put their lives on the line to protect national government facilities, landmarks and public servants working in the city. “Their jobs are hard enough without irresponsible people intentionally coming into the District of Columbia to brandish a loaded shotgun in the heart of the nation’s capital,” Machen said in a release....

Arm The TSA? I thought we were trying to get guns OUT of the hands of criminals?

With the recent targeting and shooting of TSA personnel in Los Angeles there has been some discussion that the TSA should be an armed government agency. Seriously. Let’s start of with logic…also known as: gun controllers kryptonite. Why would the TSA need to be armed?  For all intents and purposes,  airports are gun free zones.  People travelling with their firearm must have it unloaded and locked in a case.  And no firearm can be present in the secured part of the airport which officially begins IN THE LINE of the security checkpoint. So, if the gun free zone that gun controllers champion really work, then TSA agents don’t need to be armed to defend themselves and that whole LAX thing must have been in our collective imaginations. But let’s look at the people who are being hired as TSA agents, or rather the requirements.  I’ve no doubt there are...

Gun Hating Principal Bans Mother From School For Having A CCW Permit

Janina Dallas, the principal of McBean Elementary School in Hephzibah, GA,  has involved the police department in banning a student’s mother from the buildings and school property. The mother banned is Tanya Mount.  What did Tanya do that was so dangerous that it warranted Dallas taking these extreme measures? Mount took a picture of her recently issued Georgia CCW and posted it on facebook.   While I wouldn’t have posted my carry permit or any form of ID on social media there is no crime in that.  And if Mount was excited by getting hers and wanted to show her friends then I do not see the harm. Yet, Mount, an Army veteran, soon would discover what harm an irrational, hoplophobic administrator on a power trip can cause. The Principal, Janina Dallas, was somehow made aware of the photo showing that Mount had her CCW and as such contacted police...

Northwestern honors troops with best uniform ever

Sure, there are more meaningful ways to honor the troops then simply changing your uniform for one game, but if you are going to do it, it doesn’t get much better than Northwestern University’s attempt.       From the top of the head to the tips of the toes these uniforms bash you in the face with American Pride.  And seriously, even though we, as a country, have had a rough go of things recently, maybe it’s time for a little more American pride and exceptionalism and a little less apologizing for being who we are. This is America dang it, ass kickin’ name takin’ world shapin superpower…for a little while longer at least. And it is nice that every now and again we give a little nod of appreciation to the soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen who have fought and sacrificed for us. This uniform will be...

Surprise Suprise, gun free zone fails again

What happens when you take a so called “gun free zone”, place it in a state with some of the strictest gun control measures in the country and all but ensure you have disarmed the law abiding? You get a shopping mall in Paramus NJ and only by the shooters intent was the only one killed himself. Richard Shoop, 20, of Washington Township NJ entered the mall, armed with a sporting rifle that he stole from his brother, apparently with the intent to commit suicide either by killing himself or via suicide by cop.  He had ample time and opportunity to shoot innocent bystanders but did not. While the people of the mall are extremely lucky that Shoop’s main agenda was to harm himself alone, a note was recovered at his house, one cannot disregard yet another stunning failure of gun control and so called “gun free” zones in...

R.A.G.E – The best way to deal with bullying

I read an article at Clashdaily.com  that dealt with an issue that has been in the news a lot recently, bullying.  Here is an excerpt: Here is what I’ve learned over the years about handling bullies from my brothers, my father, John Frycek and the bullies. And I’m grateful to them all and dad was right, I even made friends with some of them after we “settled” things. The best anti-bullying campaign is R-A-G-E! And it stands for: Readiness – You must be prepared to the best of your ability to defend yourself. This is half the deterrent already because bullies prey on the weak and the vulnerable. They look for an easy mark so don’t become one. Relying on a teacher, a principal or a parent to talk sense into a bully or his parents, will rarely work. There’s a reason that he’s a bully and,...

The Importance of the Virginia Governor’s Race

Voters in Virginia are set to hit the polls tomorrow to vote on who will lead them for the next four years. For the Democrats you have Terry McAuliffe and for the Republicans Ken Cuccinelli. With voters hitting the ballot box within 24 hours one wonders, ‘How does this effect gun owners in both Virginia and the rest of the country?’ The answer has many facets.  First you have the fact that Terry McAuliffe is a rabid gun control supporter.  That is no surprise as many Democrats who run for office are.  What is a surprising is that McAuliffe is vocally running his campaign as a rabid gun control proponent…in VIRGINIA. If McAuliffe ends up winning this election folks like Bloomberg and Soros will see that gun control champions might be a winning bet again and begin flowing more millions of dollars into campaigns across the country.  Any statement/momentum...

Oregonian Man Wins Lawsuit After Being Unlawfully Detained While On His Front Lawn Getting His Mail

Kevin Hall of Corvallis, OR brought a suit against the city for the unlawful detention he experienced last October. While walking to his mailbox to retrieve his mail, while also open carrying a firearm, Hall was approached by Corvallis Police Officer James Dodge.  When Dodge approached, Hall asked him if he was being detained, Dodge replied no but would like to talk to Hall.  Since he wasn’t being detained and wasn’t doing anything wrong Hall started to return to his house when he was stopped by Dodge and told him NOW he was being detained. I guess, according to Officer Dodge, you are free to leave until you actually try to leave, then you are detained.  This is akin to the stories of the good ole boy Sheriffs’ who bash out taillights and then give you a ticket for it. The Officers defense becomes the theatre of the absurd...
