Feminist Speaker Cancels Speech Because University Wouldn’t Break The Law For Her

Canadian born, video game hating feminist, Anita Sarkeesian was scheduled to give a talk at Utah State University this week but has decided to cancel it.  While a speaker backing out of an engagement is not unheard of, the reasoning behind this case is of special interest. Sarkeesian’s feminist crusade aims at gender equality in video games.  No, seriously.  She views that, too often, women are portrayed in video games as helpless damsels, eye candy, or exploited detritus like strippers and prostitutes.   While that’s all well and good, and she may even have a point, there are a section of gamer boys who don’t take to kindly to her rabble rousing of their entertainment.  As such she allegedly gets threatened. That’s not surprising either, I get threatened by troglodyte gun control zealots from time to time. Which brings us to the State of Utah.  In the days leading...

Missouri Legislature Overrides Veto, Gun Rights Expand In The Show Me State

The States within our republic are built so that one faction, one section or one man does not have the power to exude tyranny.  In Missouri, the expansion of gun rights was allowed to come to fruition because the checks and balances ingrained in the system stopped Democrat Gov. Jay Nixon from being a gun grabbing dictator. After two years of effort the legislature amassed the two-thirds majority necessary to override the vetoes and have allowed the peoples’ gun rights to expand which reflects the will of the PEOPLE…the will which Gov. Nixon so desperately wanted to grind under heel. Beginning next month Missourians with CCW permits will have the ability to openly carry their firearms throughout the state without having to worry about some small town or big city prohibition against it.  Full pre-emption of firearms laws now rest with the state and cannot be undermined by local jurisdictions,...

Political Correctness Runs Amok as Student Arrested For Writing About Shooting a DINOSAUR

Oh, South Carolina…I expect better from you. On the other hand, this incident takes place in a public school, and those have long been known to be bastions of liberal asininity so I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised. Summerville High School Freshman Alex Stone was given a creative writing assignment for his English class. That short assignment written in “facebook-like update form” (don’t get me started on why students don’t seem to actually write papers anymore)  would lead the school administrators to calling the police and Alex Stone getting arrested. What threats and dangerous writings did Stone put into his work of fiction?  He wrote a story about shooting his neighbors pet dinosaur with a dinosaur hunting gun “he purchased to take care of the business.” Now…I guess PETEA is getting involved.  You know, People for the Ethical Treatment of EXTINCT Animals. What if Stone wrote about being attacked by...

Missouri School Districts Taking Security Seriously

…by giving their teachers guns in order to protect their students. Unlike the ludicrous notion that a “gun free zone” sign produces some mystical force field that keeps gun toting maniacs off school grounds, four school districts in West Plains Missouri are taking PRACTICAL steps in order to ensure the safety of both students and faculty. These school districts recently sent staffers to the hilltop range of West Plains for five days of firearms training. The instructors, all current law enforcement officers, train teachers to deal with their most likely scenario; essentially close-quarters combat while youngsters scream and run about. On the instructors command the teachers take action, they make an evasive sidestep “stepping off the X,” it’s called. They pull the Glock 19s from their holsters and fire at metal targets 50 inches tall with painted faces at the tops, careful not to hit the innocents in front and...

Gun Controllers Proved Wrong AGAIN as Student Goes On STABBING Spree

In Murrysville Pennsylvania, a scant 15 miles away from Downtown Pittsburgh a student has been arrested for going on a stabbing spree wherein some 20 students were injured, seven of which have life threatening injuries. Franklin Regional High School was the scene of the carnage as the unnamed student entered in the building a little after 7am and started running through the halls stabbing people.  Emergency Management Spokesman for Westmoreland County, Dan Stevens, had this to say: “School was in session and students were arriving for morning classes. It happened in numerous classrooms and the hallways.”  The suspect, a male student who attends Franklin Regional, is in custody. Elementary school was cancelled before any students arrived.  The middle and high school’s were placed on lockdown and students were only being released to their parents. More information about motive and the extent of damage will come with time. But I...

(Un) Common Core – Where gun controllers indoctrinate THEIR idea of the 2nd Amendment

The idea of a standard in education sounds good at first blush.  You don’t want to have anyone fall behind.  But the problem arises when a few are allowed to dictate what is “Common” and their views are allowed to indoctrinate the children of this country even if those views are contrary to the truth. Case in point, the textbooks and teaching materials that are approved by the Common Core Standards have warped interpretations of the 2nd Amendment. Examples in textbooks on how the 2nd Amendment is taught: United States History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination: The Second Amendment: The people have the right to keep and bear arms in a state militia. The Americans (history textbook): The Second and Third Amendments – grant citizens the right to bear arms as members of a militia of citizen-soldiers and prevent the government from housing troops in private homes in peacetime....

Colorado Public School Views Gun Knowledge As Part Of A Well Rounded Education

So apparently all is not lost in public education. In Pueblo County, school officials have opened up their eyes to the importance of teaching children both safety and respect of firearms.  Where gun controllers be all end all method of teaching kids about guns is to say “guns are bad and run away from them” school officials have actually decided to do something that works. You see, if anyone has kids or have had an interaction with a child, simply telling them “NO” and “DON’T TOUCH THAT” will do one of two things.  One, it will instill in them a crippling and irrational fear of whatever you are talking about (in this case, firearms) that will haunt them for years thus making them freeze in panic when faced with it, especially if in the hands of a criminal.  Two, the prohibition and mystery of the taboo object will just...

Mass Murderers have one less place to target – The State of Idaho

Or at least the State Colleges and Universities of the Gem State.  Idaho Governor CL “Butch” Otter has signed SB1254 into law that makes it legal for licensed gun owners to carry on the grounds of public universities with the exception of Dorms, Residence Halls and Entertainment venues. Outside of that last little blip, this is definitely a step in the right direction. No more will law abiding gun owners have to huddle behind a desk while some psychopath is executing his or her fellow students in front of their eyes while they helplessly wait their turn. No more will the right to defend yourself be taken from you just because you want to further your education. No more will this fool notion of “Gun Free Zones” somehow making people safer persist on the public campus’ of Idaho. This is a very good thing.  Finally, people are waking up...

Clock runs out for Wyoming Legislature to protect schools

Wyoming, the great square state of the Midwest has run out of time to do something so forward thinking and revolutionary simple that it would shame North East and California Politicians if said politicians had any credibility to begin with. Wyoming lawmakers in both houses had voted to let school staff carry guns.  Unlike the gun controllers who seek to stamp out freedom whenever they can and as a result help criminals and madmen go on rampages unfettered by the law abiding, Wyoming had clearly deciphered the riddle that has plagued gun controllers for so long.  GUN FREE ZONES DON’T WORK!  On February 13th, the Wyoming Legislature voted 54-6 in forwarding a bill that will allow teachers and other school workers who possess a CCW to bring their sidearm onto campus.  On the 19th the Senate committee forwarded a similar piece of legislation to the Senate for debate.  Unfortunately,...

Mass. Task Force lays out 44 ways the Legislature should infringe on your gun rights

After the shooting at Sandy Hook, a state committee in Massachusetts was charged with devising ways to end gun violence. We are a nation who loves to think everything is coded so you can go ahead and read that as “devising ways to pass acceptable gun control by exploiting the tragedy of dead children.” I’ll give Massachusetts politicians this though, they at least went through the process of giving it some thought, unlike Gov. Cuomo of New York who violated his states own prohibitions in order to jam the SAFE Act down the throats of New Yorkers in the dead of night. So what did this “task force” come up with?  While not completely erasing what’s left of the 2nd Amendment in Massachusetts, as a whole the recommendations are just gun control masquerading as something “new”. The major points: — The Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association should work with...

Gun Control Philosophy Run Amok: College Seeks To BAN Nerf Guns

Missouri State University is actually weighing a campus wide ban on Nerf guns.  They wouldn’t be the first though as Colorado University passed a ban back in 2009 saying that Nerf toys violated the weapons policy and having one would lead to your arrest and treatment as an armed gunman. The matter in Missouri came up during the week long student game of “Humans vs Zombies”. If you are unfamiliar with this game it is basically as it sounds.  Though it may change slightly in rules depending on where it is played, I’ll explain  the gist of it.  You start out with two teams, Humans and Zombies though the zombie team is few and the Humans outnumber them greatly. Each team where’s a headband or armband that can distinguish them from a non player and from the other team.  The band is worn around the arm for a Human...

Surprise, gun free zone fails again. But so does the over coddling of today’s youth

In the most recent school shooting in Colorado the shooter, who was not repelled by the magic pixie dust powered “Gun Free Zone” sign, was not a mass shooter but a student with a specific target in mind. 18 year old Karl Halverson Pierson walked into Arapahoe High School armed with a shotgun and 2 Molotov cocktails looking to kill the Librarian and Debate Coach Tracy Murphy after Murphy had benched him during the last debate competition. A few things spring to mind. First, once again the “Gun Free Zone” shows how utterly ridiculous it is at actually stopping anyone with malicious intent from entering. Secondly, the teacher was lucky that Pierson got his hand on a shotgun because he didn’t hide it and that gave Murphy enough warning to flee the school before he got shot.  A gun is not the only way to kill a teacher as...

Imagination Nazis Trying To Eliminate Childhood Play

The age of crackpot zero tolerance nonsense needs to come to an end. As a child, I played cops and mobsters, cowboys and Indians and army vs army.  If I was a child today I probably would have been locked up on someone’s terrorism watch list as would most of us over the age of 25. What has led me to this belief?  Because the Imagination Nazis are out in force, goosestepping all over imagination and childhood play.  Banning toy guns apparently isn’t good enough for some “educators” like the South Eastern School District in Pennsylvania. This school district has the tagline: “Providing Progressive Education to Strengthen the Global Community”. With a motto like that is it any wonder that the powers that be suspended a 10 year old boy, Johnny Jones, for pantomiming a bow and arrow? According to the Rutherford Institute, a civil liberties organization: Jones was...

Gun Controllers push for Robot Apocalypse rather than arming teachers

Sci-fi is only fiction until it isn’t. A company in silicon valley has created a 5ft tall, 300 lb R2D2 looking robot that they hope will keep tragedies like Sandy Hook and other school shootings from happening. “We founded Knightscope after what happened at Sandy Hook,” said the company’s co-founder William Santana Li. “You are never going to have an armed officer in every school.” No, because an armed “officer” (could be a teacher) would be effective and since gun controllers in general have an aversion to logical solutions that work, they march out idiotic ideas like have a robot monitoring the halls. Let’s just touch base with the obvious problem as it relates to Mr. Li’s statement.  Unless this monstrosity is armed with kung fu devensive programming or armament itself (which is another HUGE problem if it were) what you basically have is an oversized, overpriced, overly intrusive smoke...

Good news for the Gonazaga Seniors who defended themselves against home invader: No expulsion

As you may have read earlier here, a pair of Gonzaga seniors were facing expulsion after they used a firearm to repel a home invader who was a 6 time convicted felon. You can read the about the details here:  Gonzaga moves to expel students who stopped felon from murdering them – despite living off campus Good news has finally come to Fagan and McIntosh as the school has decided (no doubt from the onslaught of bad press they were receiving) not to expel them. Though the pair did not get off Scot free either. The duo will be allowed to finish their final year at Gonzaga under probation. Nor did Gonzaga get away unscathed in their asinine ruling in the matter.  Namely what Fagan and McIntosh were actually found in violation of the following policies: possessing weapons on school grounds (questionable since the building was off campus and...

Gonzaga moves to expel students who stopped felon from murdering them – despite living off campus

From Patriot News Update: Two Gonzaga students are facing possible expulsion from the University after they pulled a weapon in self defense as a six time felon attempted to get into their on campus apartment. According to the student handbook, students may not possess handguns on campus or university owned property. On Friday a university discipline board decided to move forward with sanctions, including possible expulsion, for using the weapons. Read more at http://patriotoutdoornews.com/8065/gonzaga-students-face-possible-expulsion-pulling-gun-home-intruder#jkI6kdZg2vXVKkZ3.99 Let me first say that the two students, Erik Fagan and Dan McIntosh, in my mind did everything right. The University on the other hand is really crapping the bed on this matter. And you may be surprised to know that the reason I believe so isn’t for the reason you may think. An anti gun, private University has the right to ban guns from their campus and their property.  It’s an idiotic and dangerous...

Gun Hating Principal Bans Mother From School For Having A CCW Permit

Janina Dallas, the principal of McBean Elementary School in Hephzibah, GA,  has involved the police department in banning a student’s mother from the buildings and school property. The mother banned is Tanya Mount.  What did Tanya do that was so dangerous that it warranted Dallas taking these extreme measures? Mount took a picture of her recently issued Georgia CCW and posted it on facebook.   While I wouldn’t have posted my carry permit or any form of ID on social media there is no crime in that.  And if Mount was excited by getting hers and wanted to show her friends then I do not see the harm. Yet, Mount, an Army veteran, soon would discover what harm an irrational, hoplophobic administrator on a power trip can cause. The Principal, Janina Dallas, was somehow made aware of the photo showing that Mount had her CCW and as such contacted police...

R.A.G.E – The best way to deal with bullying

I read an article at Clashdaily.com  that dealt with an issue that has been in the news a lot recently, bullying.  Here is an excerpt: Here is what I’ve learned over the years about handling bullies from my brothers, my father, John Frycek and the bullies. And I’m grateful to them all and dad was right, I even made friends with some of them after we “settled” things. The best anti-bullying campaign is R-A-G-E! And it stands for: Readiness – You must be prepared to the best of your ability to defend yourself. This is half the deterrent already because bullies prey on the weak and the vulnerable. They look for an easy mark so don’t become one. Relying on a teacher, a principal or a parent to talk sense into a bully or his parents, will rarely work. There’s a reason that he’s a bully and,...
