The fallacy that gun free zones are anything more than criminal empowerment zones is finally wearing thin. More and more people are realizing that gun free zones just allow bad people to commit crime unhindered while law abiding people are left defenseless.
More and more businesses are removing those silly little signs advertising their weakness as the remove the restrictions against law abiding citizens from exercising their rights.
But one business owner in Georgia is taking it to the next level. Lance Toland is being proactive with his belief that his workers have the right to be safe at work.

Toland decided the best way to protect his employees is to arm them so he issued a mandate requiring all employees to obtain a conceal carry license. Upon obtaining their license, Toland provided every employ with a personal protection handgun known as a judge.
There are a number of models and makes of a judge handgun, but basically, they are a handgun that fires .410 shotgun ammunition. They are designed for close range use in self-protection. The video below demonstrates how they work and just how lethal they can be.
Within four weeks of issuing the conceal carry mandate, all of Toland’s employees had obtained their conceal carry licenses and were presented with their own judge handgun. They can keep the gun at their desks or carry them on their persons.
Toland told the local media:
“I have a number of offices and most of my employees are women.”
“A lot of my clients are high fiving when they hear this. They think it’s the best things for a company to mandate gun ownership and be responsible.”

This is the direction that more businesses should be going with. True, the Judge isn’t exactly the first option that I would choose but working for an employer who has my own well being and safety in mind instead of some political correct BS is refreshing for most of us who have had the opposite experience in the past.
Lance Toland has bucked the norm that many businesses believe in. Instead of letting his employees be sacrificial lambs on the alter of political correctness and gun control zealotry, he has made them hounds that can keep the wolves at bay.
I hope more employers follow his lead.
