It is both refreshing and encouraging that the men and women who are leading this country now have not followed the path of the previous 8 years but instead have decided to actually defend and protect America from it’s enemies.
On his first workday, Secretary of Defense James Mattis wasted no time by dropping the bomb on ISIS. Well, actually it was 31 sorties of bombs and he was droppin em like they was hot.
Our Friends over at Mental Recession summed it up rather nicely:
Mattis entered the Pentagon Saturday with a smile for his first full day of work, and for good reason, considering the significant bombardment ISIS forces received.
A variety of fighters, bombers and remotely piloted aircraft engaged in the bombing run, which saw 25 strikes in Syria and six in Iraq. In Syria, two strikes destroyed ISIS units and artillery near the town of Bab. ISIS forces in Raqqa, the terrorist group’s de facto capital, took a heavy beating, as 22 strikes destroyed 12 tactical units, nine fighting positions, two underground improvised explosive bomb factories and an ISIS headquarters. The final strike targeted two ISIS oil wells in Deir ez Zour.
ISIS forces in Iraq suffered several casualties as well. One strike in the city of Rutbah destroyed a tactical unit and vehicle, two weapons caches and a mortar. Another in Beiji left a unit and vehicle destroyed. A strike in Kisik destroyed a building and tactical unit. Another in Tal Afar also destroyed a unit, truck and command node. The city of Mosul, which acts as the terrorist group’s regional capital in Iraq, received two strikes, which destroyed two units, three fighting positions, a tank, and a car bomb factory.

I hope the attacks came as a complete surprise to the Islamic Terrorist of ISIS. Who it shouldn’t come to a surprise to though is the American people. Trump made it very clear during his campaign and reiterated during his inauguration speech that his goal was to wipe ISIS out as quickly as possible. Secretary Mattis took those words at face value and wasted no time in starting the process.
Mattis, finally unchained by the cowardice and the complicity of Barack Obama has free reign to wage a war against the terrorists in the Middle East.
Mattis was a dissenting voice to President Obama and since Obama is a snowflake who only wants to live in an echo chamber of sycophants who praise him, Mattis was relieved of his command.
But then General Mattis was correct in all he said. In a Time Magazine interview he said this of the Obama strategy:
“The current (Obama’s) U.S. effort against ISIS is unguided by a sustained policy or sound strategy [and] replete with half-measures.”
When addressing the Senate Armed Service Committee in 2015 he said that Obama’s effort against ISIS was “strategy free” and continued by suggesting that the US:
“come out from our reactive crouch and take a firm, strategic stance in defense of our values.”
Well brother…he’s come out a swinging and the enemies of America can once again quake in their boots because they now know that the free ride they were getting for the past 8 years is over.
