You never hear anyone calling for universal background checks for knives nor do we see many signs indicating a knife free zone. The reason has nothing to do with reducing violent crimes.

I’ve penned a new op-ed at Counter Cultured on the freedom to carry–constitutional carry–in all 50 states. Last week, the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage in all 50 states by citing the 14th Amendment as justification for this. While this ruling was disappointing – government has now redefined marriage – we must promote a culture of marriage without quick legislative fixes or government intervention. If one positive thing has come out of this ruling, it gives the 14th Amendment license to be applied to gun rights with respect to the right to carry. With the internet reaching new and innovative ways to impact peoples lives a relatively recent phenomenon has begun called crowd sourcing. Basically the idea that if you have an idea, a dream, a need, a cause or a desire that you would like to have funded you go through a site and have an online money drive. The idea is that the charity of the masses will help you by donating to you cause if they find it worthy. Well, one site, GoFundMe.com has decided that only liberal causes are worth supporting and instead of letting the people who actually give money decide, the big wigs at GoFundMe have decided that they will undermine those who might find like minded people to help them. Build a Rocket Stove On The Cheap

With all the politics, legislation and real tales of self defense that gets covered here on Bullets First sometimes I like to mix it up a bit when I find something interesting that is 2nd Amendment adjacent. It always touches me when a random act of kindness is displayed to one of America’s veterans. I was just a kid in 1986 and space travel and astronauts was very exciting. I remember watching the Challenger exploding and my young eyes not really believing what I was seeing. Then the leader of our nation got on television and put into words what a young heart couldn’t speak at the time. Just 650 words, delivered in under 5 minutes comforted me and a grieving nation.
