Election time…who should I vote for? Candidate Ratings

With elections across the nation happening next Tuesday, many voters may still be on the fence about who to vote for.  With all the campaigning and outside money flooding into states around the nation it is hard to get an accurate reading on where candidates line up on the notion of gun right versus gun control. From some of the campaigning it sounds like staunch gun control advocates have become Charlton Heston reborn. Now, as readers of Bullets First know I have made my feelings very clear about 2 elections in particular.  Mainly the Gubernatorial races in New York and Colorado. In New York, Andrew Cuomo is so confident in his disdain for the rights of the citizens that he is prepared to push SAFE Act 2 into law upon his reelection. His opponent, Rob Astorino has unequivically stated that he will repeal the SAFE Act. In Colorado, Hickenlooper...

Cuomo Campaign Throws Tantrum: Forces Factory Worker To Go Home Over NRA Shirt

In the film version of “1776”, when the vote on whether to open debate on Independence comes up the  resolution is tied.  The Representative from Rhode Island then saunters in, returning from the lavatory, and is questioned on how Rhode Island stands on the question of debate. The response from Stephen Hopkins was as follows: Well, in all my years I ain’t never heard, seen nor smelled an issue that was so dangerous it couldn’t be talked about. Hell yeah! I’m for debating anything. Rhode Island says yea! Alas, in New York, apparently Mr. Cuomo says “NAY”.  And I’m not talking about him avoiding televised debates with his opponent Rob Astorino. I’m talking about his recent trip to an alternative power company in upstate New York. In an exclusive, a reader of Bullets First who works for the hydrogen fuel cell company, Plug Power, passed along the following email that...

Cuomo To Sign SAFE ACT 2 Into Law If He Gets Reelected

If Governor Cuomo is reelected the framework is all ready in place for passage of SAFE ACT 2.  While the Cuomo administration is hesitant to refer to it under that name during an election cycle, it will still be one of the first things he does upon his new term even if he has to manipulate the legislative process again in order to ram it through. Here are the 10 key points of SAFE ACT 2 that will punish law abiding citizens, legal businesses and in general diminish the sparse amount of liberty that remains in the increasingly appropriate named “Empire State”.  My commentary italicized. 1. Safe Storage – Requires that weapons be stored with a safety locking device or in a safe storage depository when left outside the immediate possession or control of the owner or other lawful possessor.  Failure to do so will result in a Class A misdemeanor....

Hickenlooper Holding Colorado Hostage: Re-Elect Me Or I’ll Free Mass Murderer

Gov. Hickenlooper of Colorado really is the worst kind of scum.  Not only did he push for and sign into law a gun control bill that did nothing but be a punitive measure against the law abiding, but since his constituency has put his re-election bid into jeopardy he has resulted to threats. Hickenlooper, as governor, has the power to pardon criminals or commute their sentences.  Hickenlooper is the kind of hypocritical scum sucker who would use that power for political leverage.  He is using the impending election to allude to the fact that if he is not re-elected he “could” very well pardon or commute Nathan Dunlap’s sentence of death. What makes Hickenlooper a flaming hypocrite in this regard rather than just a scum sucking parasite?  Because Nathan Dunlap was a MASS SHOOTER in AURORA Colorado shooting 5 people and killing 4 of them back in 1993 at a...

Are Blue States Going Red For Guns this Election?

There comes a point when even liberal states say “enough is enough.”  In under a month there are 4 gubernatorial elections from 3 downright midnight blue states and one purple that will see just how much tyranny the residents are willing to endure in the name of progressive statist idealism. The states that I am referring to are New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Colorado.  What do these states all have in common?  Gun control. In the past 2 years these four states have passed liberty crippling measures that gut the free citizens 2nd Amendment rights while doing nothing to actually reduce crime or the threat of mass shootings. It seems that come November, the three incumbents who enacted such draconian gun control (and the supporter in Mass running for the open seat), will finally face the fire for doing so. In these traditionally deepest of blue states only in...

Scotland Votes Like Anti-Gunners: Guided by Fear and Ignorance

Scotland votes and the pieces of William Wallace roll over in his grave.  Let us just say simply that I am disappointed.  All the people of Scotland had to do to seize freedom was to VOTE for it.  Yet 55% of them let the fear mongering, political bribes and general ignorance rule the day. The Scots who voted to stay under the yolk of London were swayed by unfounded talk of economic doom and gloom put forth by those who would be most hurt by their independence, namely…the ENGLISH and their Scottish lackeys. It got so serious that the Prime Minister started making concessions to give more power to Scotland over the past month in order to try and bribe them into staying in the Kingdom.  Concessions I remind you that Parliament has no legal obligation to uphold. 55% of Scots also feared the great unknown, not one of...

Bloomberg loses ANOTHER election he tried to buy – Pro Gun Sheriff Triumphant

This time in Milwaukee, the money juggernaut that is Michael Bloomberg failed to buy a primary election for his anti gun candidate for Sheriff.   In the Democratic primary for Sheriff of Milwaukee county pro gun incumbent Sheriff David Clarke had to fight off not only his challenger but also Bloomberg with a carpet bag full of $150,000. That was the amount that Bloomberg spent to try and defeat Sheriff Clarke.  That amount is also more than Clarke and his opponent Chris Moews spent combined on their own campaigns. Fortunately the voters of Milwaukee County would not be bamboozled by the big city huckster and his money and Clarke won his primary by a margin of 52-48.  He runs unopposed in November and as such has all but assured that he will continue to proudly and justly serve the people of Milwaukee. I am a little surprised that the...

Intelligent Life Found In New York?

Since I will be keeping a close eye on the upcoming New York gubernatorial election, as gun control and gun rights will be at its center thanks to Cuomo’s tyrannical and asininely named SAFE Act, I take an opportunity to read the local periodicals when I get the chance. It was in doing so that I was pleasantly surprised the the liberal rag The Schenectady Gazette had the courage to actually print a letter to the editor from a person I can only imagine is a reader of mine.  Because Don Steciak of Schenectady pretty much wrote a piece that might as well come from my own hand. Take a look at some of the good old fashioned common sense that seems to still exist in pockets of New York: Gun Control not right solution to random shootings On May 23, another nut case went on a rampage, in...

Only in California: 300K voters cast ballot for indicted gun control/gun trafficking hypocrite

Somehow, this story doesn’t surprise me. In case you missed it, disgraced former State Senator and champion gun control advocate Leland Yee of San Francisco has been indicted on charges ranging from racketeering to GUN TRAFFICKING. Yet even so: 287,590 voters STILL cast their ballot for the nefarious hypocrite Leland Yee for Secretary of State.. Seriously California?  What does it take for some of you to take your head out of your collective 4th point of contact? Let’s run this down. You like gun control?  Ok. Leland Yee believes in gun control as much as Hitler believes in not using gas chambers.  In that, they both don’t want it applied to them. Not only is Yee above the notion of being personally limited by the legislation that he has proposed over the years but he also is THE EXACT REASON that bad guys have guns including terrorist. To be...

Hillary Clinton…a history of gun hate just in time for 2016

It may come as no surprise to my readers that I do not care for Hillary Clinton.  She comes off as just slimy and I don’t trust her.  And heck, Al Rove may be right and she does have brain damage from a fall in 2012. So it comes as no surprise that Clinton has gone full on gun hate and thinks that WE…the people…are the problem. Here’s what she said at the National Council for Behavioral Health conference: “I think again we’re way out of balance. We’ve got to rein in what has become almost an article of faith that almost anybody can have a gun anywhere at any time. And I don’t believe that is in the best interest of the vast majority of people.” So our belief in liberty and freedom from tyranny is something that needs to be “reined in.”  Interesting. Here are some interesting...

Quo Vadis, America?

Quo Vadis translates to the question: Where are you going? It is also a 1951 film covering the ending of Nero’s Emperorship of Rome. As I watched this film I couldn’t help but see parallels of first century Rome and modern America, mainly in the leadership that both share. I have thought that President Obama was just a socialist tyrant but looking at his presidency through a Roman lens I wonder if he is not rather a raving lunatic who plays a metaphorical fiddle while America burns. In Quo Vadis, Nero doesn’t think himself a lunatic.  Quite the contrary, Nero views himself as a artist and his vision is being hampered by the ignorant masses who do not appreciate his “gifts.”  He is falsely bolstered by the sycophants around him and no one dares utter words against him lest they be banished or killed. Nero’s arrogance towards his people...

Be like St. Patrick and drive the gun control snakes from the land

Happy St. Patrick’s Day. While we all adorn green and lift a pint in honor of the Patron Saint of Ireland today let us not forget his most notable achievement, he drove all snakes out of the emerald isle.  It is only one of the few places in all the world where you will not find slithery serpents. If only the same could be said of Congress.   Think on this, how many rights are we denied because of fair weather polticians who speak with a forked tongue while they are courting our votes only to slither back to Washington DC and hide in the Capitol and pollute our liberty with their venom. Harry Reid, for instance got an A rating from the NRA because he went with the flow while Bush was in office but the moment Obama resided at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave he slithered over to the...

Can the Man from Westchester SAVE the 2nd Amendment in New York?

No sooner did Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino declare his candidacy for Governor of New York did my inbox start getting bombarded with emails from upstaters questioning whether a politician from a county so close to NYC can be pro gun. The term RINO was bandied about as well as one email from former Republican Candidate for Governor, Carl Paladino, stated that Astorino was just a puppet of New York Republican State Committee Chair, Ed Cox. The Astorino candidacy is only being promoted by Cox to perpetuate the Albany establishment and the abuse of government by the arrogant and vain tyrant, Andrew Cuomo, who wants to maintain the status quo.  The rank and file want change and Cox appears to be setting Astorino up as a sacrificial run to keep all his RINO lobbyist buddies like D’Amato fat and happy, feeding at the public trough. While I do believe...

CPAC day 3: Rand Paul Rolls and guns take center stage

Rand Paul won the 2014 CPAC straw poll in commanding fashion by nearly triple the total of 2nd place finisher Ted Cruz. And thus ends the 2014 Conservative Political Action Conference. The third day of the conservative bonanza found guns and the 2nd Amendment front and center.  The NRA ran a program debunking gun control myths and instruction on how to talk to mouth drooling gun control zealots.  It was a rather interesting refresher course for me.  Video and a more in depth write up will come next week. After NRA University the main stage held a forum entitled: More Guns Less Crime.  The forum consisted of Emily Miller, Milwaukee Sherriff David Clark, Former US Rep. Sandy Adams and was moderated by Chris Cox. I recorded the entire forum and will be bringing that to you with commentary next week as well. All in all the attendees of CPAC...

Good for guns: Cruz and Paul top Presidential poll

One of the largest polls conducted for the 2016 election cycle with over 62,000 participants, has found that Sen. [score]Ted Cruz[/score] from Texas and Sen. Rand Paul from Kentucky leading the way with each over 80% of support for desired candidates for the White House. Personally I love that duo for a ticket.  Or either one if they want to ask Allen West to be a VP. Why?  Because unlike the bottom of that poll, populated by Chris Christie and others, Cruz and Paul do not have to quantify their support of the 2nd Amendment.  They have never wavered on the issue nor have they compromised the gun rights of those they represent for political expediency. Furthermore, they have taken an active position in PROMOTING the 2nd Amendment while others, like a certain governor of New Jersey, have done no more to protect the 2nd Amendment than the current...

Another Activist Judge, Another Double Standard Stickin It To The 2nd Amendment

Judges are SUPPOSED to be like umpires or referees. I mean that, though you may not agree with them they are consistent.  In being such they do not favor some rights more than others. Yet once again, an activist judge has decided to toss out the will of the people on logic that would be unheard of if used with regard to the 2nd Amendment. Commonwealth Court Judge Bernard L. McGinley, a Democrat,  has tossed out Pennsylvania’s Voter ID law because: “the law would unreasonably burden the fundamental right to vote, and the state had been unable to convincingly explain why it was necessary.” Funny, examples of voter fraud aren’t convincing but somehow Andrew Cuomo, Barack obama and other rabid gun controllers speaking in hyperbole is convincing? There is NO evidence that gun control has stopped or reduced gun crime.  In FACT, over the past 100 years, whenever major...

Gov Cuomo endorses actions by retired cop who killed rude movie theater patron

A retired police officer shot two people, one fatally, during a cell phone dispute inside a Florida movie theater yesterday. 71 year old, retired Tampa, FL cop Curtis Reeves asked 43 year old Chad Oulson to stop texting during the movie.  When Chad refused Curtis left to alert staff.  Upon his return Chad asked if Curtis went and told on him at which point an argument broke out. At this point, Curtis took out his sidearm and shot Chad Oulson and his wife Nicole.  Chad would die of his wounds. ————————————————— UPDATE: According to the police report the incident took place during the previews and not the movie itself.  Reeves is attempting to claim self defense as a bag of popcorn was thrown at him.  Witnesses claim no physical contact occurred between the two men (save the popcorn) before Reeves shot and killed Oulson.  The report can be read...

A SAFE Act? Cuomo official uses handgun as laser pointer during presentation

Perhaps while Andrew Cuomo was forcing the unconstitutional SAFE Act down the throats of New Yorkers he should have included the confiscation of guns by his own administration. It has come out that on October 24th of last year, Jerome Hauer, Cuomo’s Dir. of Homeland Security, took out his Glock 9mm handgun (you know, the one WITHOUT a safety) and used the laser pointer on it to give a presentation to a Swedish delegation. As you can imagine the Swede’s became a little discomforted as Hauer waved his handgun around, flagging them all as he spoke and gesticulated. Apparently being the Dir. of NY’s Homeland Security doesn’t mean you know the first thing about gun safety, of which one of the tenets is never point your weapon at something you aren’t willing to destroy. And this isn’t an overreaction of the foreign delegation as I too would not be...
