In what appears to eventually be a 9 seat pick up in the Senate, Republicans have ousted Harry Reid from the Senate Leadership position and regained control of the upper house of Congress.  As a gun owner, my question is: “What are they going to do now?” Killing all gun control talk is great…I suppose…but with Republicans controlling the house since the 2010 elections, that has been a pipe dream for Democrats anyways.  And with Obama in charge of nominating judges, the best the Republicans can do is block the extreme anti gun jurists but they are unable to put forth their own pro 2nd Amendment replacements. Suicide Guns For Sale: Bad Kharma or Just Discounted Firearm?

In honor of the Halloween season, I bring you a story touches on the macabre.  In Greensburg, PA, a place a little to the east of Pittsburgh, the county coroner is auctioning off 97 guns used in suicides and accidental shooting deaths. The sale is to take place on November 8th and will be the first governmental gun sell back in Westmoreland County since the 1980’s. Corner Ken Bacha says state law requires local governments sell off unclaimed property. While they have often have sales auctioning off property and vehicles this will be the first gun auction since Bacha’s fater Leo, was coroner back in the 80’s.  Proceeds will help fund county government.  The coroners office takes possession of weapons during death investigations.  Family members have a year to claim these weapons before they become county property, but under the nature of which they were last used, it is understandable that...

As anyone with a real understanding about the 2nd Amendment knows, it has nothing to do with hunting and everything to do with the defense of liberty against freedom.  The defense of our lives against danger.  The defense of our land against aggression. School Principal Arming Up to Protect His Students

Instead of putting his faith in imaginary magic force-fields generated by “gun free zone” signs, a school principal in Ohio is utilizing the opportunity provided him to do something that would actually make a difference in protecting his students. In Trenton Ohio, Edgewood High School Principal  Russ Fussnecker has decided to take advantage of the law that gives him an ability to carry a firearm while at work.  While Fussnecker is a gun owner, he still needs his Concealed Weapons permit and then undergo special training in order to be allowed to carry while on school grounds. The special training will be provided by the Butler County Sheriff’s department and upon successful completion, Fussnecker will earn the certification necessary to carry a loaded firearm into public school buildings. Pretty Pin Ups With Guns, Utah is NOT Pleased [Video]

In a story that mashes together the reserved nature of Mormon dominated Utah, with the sexualized fits of fancy you would expect from a pin up calendar, a bit of situation has arisen in the Beehinve State. The calendar maker, Hot Shots, filmed a promotional video of their models during the photoshoot that took place both in the desert flats as well has the mountain peaks of Utah.  The film and subsequent calendar utilized equipment from the Utah National Guard, both vehicles and weaponry. Some in the state of Utah are not happy about it and as such are demanding an investigation into the entire situation.  I’m not exactly sure what they are looking to investigate as the video clearly shows that the bikini clad models are firing live ammo and rolling around in tanks and armored vehicles, not props. Two PA Lawmakers Fight Off Mugging With Firearm

In Harrisburg, PA a pair of lawmakers, both Democrats, faced an attempted mugging last night at gunpoint after a session of the House went late.  According police: State Rep. Marty Flynn of Scranton and State Rep. Ryan Bizzarro of Erie were approached around 11 p.m. Tuesday near the 200 block of Herr Street.  The pair was confronted by two muggers and a driver, the report said. Marty Flynn, being no pushover as he is a former prison guard as well as an MMA fighter and armed citizen of the Commonwealth drew his weapon and engaged after the muggers allegedly fired a round at the lawmakers.  After Flynn returned fire the muggers quickly made their escape.  No one was reported hurt.
